(Above is a paid site, the twitter link has a lot of additional information.

Yea, this totally seems like something MLB under Manfred would do.

It also indicates that the whole "We don't know why it's different" is a load of bull.

If they want more homers during the season, why would they want less in the playoffs?

Because they overdid it in the regular season and then they overadjusted for the playoffs?

Busch Stadium is now probably behind Camden Yards in terms of hosting the All Star Game.

The St. Louis Cardinals’ front office says baseballs have suddenly lost their juice this postseason, supporting a claim from a prominent data scientist that the balls have changed following a historic, homer-friendly regular season.

Either way, the league appears to have lost significant public trust over the construction of its baseballs. The commissioner’s office is well aware of the reception that awaits statements like the following, a response to an analysis at Baseball Prospectus which found that the postseason ball appears de-juiced.

“The baseballs used in Major League Baseball are manufactured in batches,” the league said. “Balls that are used in the Postseason are pulled from the same batches as balls used in the regular season. Regular season and Postseason balls are manufactured with the same materials and under the same processes. The only difference is the Postseason stamp that is placed on the ball. As has been previously acknowledged, however, the drag of the baseball can vary over different time periods.”

League sources said that the drag on the ball was increasing already in August and September — a suggestion the postseason may not be as anomalous as it seems — and that those drag numbers should be made public when the latest independent study on the baseball is completed.

So here is MLB’s self-inflicted Catch-22. No one’s going to believe that the league does not actually steer the ship at Rawlings. And if, indeed, MLB doesn’t have the operational grip on Rawlings that has been widely assumed — should it?

A league-commissioned study of the baseball in 2018 shot down the idea that the factory itself is somehow lacking. Yet, this is the echo chamber of distrust the league has walked itself into.

Of course there are less homers.  No Oriole is pitching.

Five teams broke or tied the previous record for most HR allowed in a season.

Yankees allowed 248.
