BP Top 10

I know Luke liked Hall’s defense better than Grenier’s.    But, to each his own.

I remember Tony having a conniption a few years ago when BP put Josh Hart in their top 10.   They aren’t afraid to go out on a limb.     In that case, the limb got sawed off while they were sitting on it.

What they seem afraid to do is update their lists based on more current info. I have to assume they’re just really short on resources.

I do, but I think I’m in the minority there. I just think Hall is more twitchy and has quicker hands on the release or transfer. Grenier is more consistent. Both are better fits at 2B IMO.

I wasn’t around for Tony’s take on Hart in their 10. I actually preferred BP over BA for awhile but they’ve drastically cut their in person scouting.

I did get into my first Twitter argument (with Meoli actually) over Chris Lee in BA’s top 10 over Akin and Stewart. I had Lee at 36 or something.

Honestly, Grenier at 10 makes me discount the entire thing. For example, maybe Hall at 4 makes sense, but I won't give that any credence unless it comes packaged with a bunch of other smart takes.

They also have Yusniel below McKenna after ranking him 1st last season. Smacks of incoherence.

Let's just say, to each is own. The list is pretty out there, but if that's how they feel, more power to them.

It would be boring if these lists always came out virtually identical.

    • It helps when your closer goes 47 for 47.
    • That’s worth looking at.  It looks like he’s added a few pounds.  It may not be in sync with the rest of his body as he gets used to the difference.  He can plant, he can pivot and hop into his moves-bouncy in the field-but if there’s anything yet to be demonstrated with consistency it’s that.  I’m going to say that because of his feet and legs being much better than average and with the coaches and guys always on him, this will not be an inconsistency for long.  Darell is being challenged often at camp and has responded in some good ways.  I noticed this as a positive sign already.  Considering the other two, in the drills I’ve seen no issue in any way.  Ortiz has no problem with the arm motion, it’s brief, and the steam on the throw is there.  The relay drill is his chance to show it, he can spin his core into it and step.  Grenier hits targets well consistently with no throw issues to match his no glove issues.
    • I'm sure it would violate some laws.
    • 2018 OPS+ 49 and 2019 OPS+ 60.  Also it's not illegal it's just against MLB rules.
    • As I’ve said before. the new regime has had a full season and now a full offseason with Davis I’m sure with oberservations and analysis from last season they put a offseason program in place for Davis to follow so far from everything I’ve read and noticeably seen in added bulk along with a small sample size of at bats it appears to have had a positive impact on CD. I have faith in this regime and believe if anybody can get the best out of CD they can.
    • not rude at all.  nah you can find some 1912s and whatnot for reasonable prices
    • 2019 ST: .189/.318/.432/.751 in 37 official at-bats, incl. 3 HR, 7 RBI, 7 BB and 19 K.
