Incredible news and congratufrickinlations! Absolutely well-deserved and they're lucky to have you. I'll sleep a little better knowing you'll be playing a part in helping to to get the organization back on track.

I’m not going to talk in detail about the process for obvious reasons, but I’ll say that I was being honest on here when I said I wasn’t looking for a job.

Happy for you, sad for all of us.  You're commentary will be missed.

You also mentioned you liked doing it in your own time and not wanting to get burnt out.  Being able to do this part time sounds like a good way to do this.  Hope you can find/keep a good balance.

I never thought I’d be writing this, but I’ve accepted a position as a Scouting Analyst Consultant with the Orioles.

I’m keeping my day job and working with the team on a part-time basis, but I obviously won’t be able to publicly discuss players anymore.

Thanks to everyone here for their encouragement and for everyone who disagreed with me or asked for an explanation, you all helped me improve as an analyst.

I’m going to do my absolute best to try and help the Orioles get back on top in any way I can.

Good luck Luke.

Congrats man. Meeting you in Bowie and hearing you analyze spin rate and launch angle hurt my head for a bit, because you were so advanced at it at the time already. The Orioles are lucky to have your contributions.

If anyone earned this opportunity, it was definitely you.

They should have picked him up three years ago.  😉

And signed him to a long term contract to eliminate any service time issues.
