Excellent defense and they didn’t bail them out for once.

Yeah the defense of play was even better than I realized. Wasn’t just completely Wisconsin panicking.

Gotta call a timeout. Ridiculous.

Yeah I was thinking they must have run out. How do you not call a time out there!

If every B10 game is going to be called like that, every home team is going to have an .800 winning percentage in conference play. That said, terrible that they couldn't get the job done on those last two possessions.

What a dumb dumb finish.  Morsell, I really expect more from you.  How do you throw such a bad inbounds pass, then just stand there out of bounds?  The turnover the possession before was bad too.

That was a road win we should've had.  The refs didn't help us down the stretch.

I'm so angry.  I'm a broken record, but missed free throws.  Jesus.  Ayala had at least two critical turnovers that I can remember.  Morsell was zoomed in on Cowan on that in bounds, didn't look anywhere else.  At least Wiggins showed up finally.  Gonna need him to make threes in order to beat good teams.

This is a 4-5 seed that is primed to get upset in the first round sadly.  Hopefully they can make a Big 10 tournament run.

Has the inbounds passer always been considered live before he steps back inbounds?  I've never quite seen a play like that before and honestly, assuming it was called correctly, I'm not a fan of that rule.  I don't feel like the inbounds player should be considered in play until he is inside the court.

    • Hardy also hit really well for a SS
    • Was anyone else super impressed with Jose Igelsias's interview coming out of the game today? Told the story of trading a baseball for an O's cap as a kid when the O's visited Cuba. Said he liked the bird and had to have it. Overall, seemed very smart and professional with a deep knowledge of the game. Something about how he carried himself reminded me of JJ.  JJ came to use at age 28 with the O's coming off a 66 win team in 2010. Jose comes to us at age 30 coming off 54 wins in 2019. 2011 was another rebuild year but we all know what happened in 2012. JJ was one of the keys in transitioning from rebuild to contender, anchoring the defense while mentoring younger players. Iglesias is a different kind of hitter but similar defensive anchor with professional attitude. Hopefully we don't make the mistake of signing Iglesias to a 3 year extension at age 32, but I have a feeling we will be picking up that option and perhaps more if things are going well.
    • Or a valuable Major League Baseball player. Seriously, there has to be a minor league FA or someone on the waiver wire who's better
    • Ok, so we see some similar things with CD. Thats reassuring.  There’s still weeks worth of play to analyze so let’s have at that.  Good to know that Sisco is improving an area of deficiency.  I think Holaday’s tater probably sends a louder and more direct message.  In a GCL game with no fans in an empty stadium it would have made a great bang off that tower!
    • If a good chunk of that is against the Yankees and Red Sox, that will be all the upside I need
    • I watched most of today's game and was pleasantly surprised to see a more confident Davis earn the two BB's and the oppo single.  His D looked good but he did lumber around third to home and scored easily. On Sisco, he looked good behind the plate from the few innings I saw.  He has filled out more since last year. From Mike Williams:
    • Yeah, agree with your second point, it's not a huge deal. And agree it's probably mainly a style of play issue. But with regard to your first point, back when we were in the ACC it felt like things were way more balanced (other than blatant ref bias in Duke games, and maybe UNC games). There were actually games back in the day where it felt like we'd get favoritism against the bottom feeders. Even our current out of conference games, you might see an extra call or two go our way. Simply doesn't happen in conference games. Guess it's the big ten style of play and the fact Turgeon rarely has had big inside bangers (other than Fernando). I do wonder how much of it is the intangible of how well the coach works the refs.
