Psst...if they have a contract, and they all do, they will be "forced" to play. So you decide which diversion is acceptable? If it happens, so be it...I think the quality of games and play will be no better than late ST. Will I watch?? Nope. I won't pay for the MLB package this year.
I'm guessing that MLB has lots of information that we don't have. Even if that's true, my problem is with what it will do with that information. With a Commissioner whose principal objective seems to be to please the owners by focusing on the game's short-term revenue prospects and expenses, and a number of owners who have demonstrated a disinterest in MLB's reputation or what used to be called the good of the game, I see no reason to believe that information will be used to reach a decision that is thoughtful and responsible.
And a worst case would be that MLB announces a schedule for a season to begin on Date X, based on projections about test availability and need among other things, and when those projections don't pan out the season needs to be reduced (or run later) again.
Shenault could be anywhere between picks 25 and 50. The Athletic said his 2018 tape would have had him in the first, but this past season wasn’t quite as good.
my gripe isn’t where shenault was drafted, it’s that I can’t imagine taking him when Queen is still on the board.
