I think Diaz’ best skill will be turning on pitches, that’s not to say he’s immobile or near it but my eye sees hitter more than fielder if one has to win.  I don’t have any evidence of his throwing arm as of yet but am pretty eager to see those drills.

Last year my eyes told me plus arm.  Seemed to cover a lot of ground in right.

He was looking pretty big last spring.   Almost built like Albert Belle, it seemed to me.    But I only saw him in 1-2 games.

That’s pretty big!  Remember the size is only one part of the power equation, and it’s a part with less worth if he can’t use it. This is probably a good time to mention that the two strength and conditioning coaches run a very large percentage of the non-baseball outside workouts. They keep the rhythm up, the noise loud and the explosion measured.  And I have lots of evidence that each player has a specified daily conditioning regimen.  Being in shape to maximize your skills looks like it’s a higher priority than the past.  Hyde was on point when he said that guys come into camp in shape now instead of using camp to get into game shape.

That’s my kind of defensive skill set.  Maybe/hopefully we’ll see drills where he’s throwing tomorrow.

As I reiterated again today, great work for us. You are a great addition.  I have two pieces of feedback to pass on that I got. Actually I get tons of feedback and all of it is positive.  These two points were regarding finalizing your edits to condense and use more paragraphs in your post structure. The second is the tweet hashes. Maybe a few more than absolutely necessary and if you intend to trend them, a space between each individual one.  #Eric #Great #Thanks
