Its going to be hard not to play these two guys if they show they can hit. Harder still to send them to the secondary site when they don't have enough outfielders to fill out intrasquad games.
Not having Santander is a big loss. Hope he can play at some point.
On this day in 1970, the Orioles beat the New York Yankees in walk off fashion again by a score of 9-8.
Moe Drabowski, who relieved starter Dave McNally, was the beneficiary of the Orioles comeback.
Trailing 8-6 entering the 9th inning, Frank Robinson homered to lead off the frame. Brooks Robinson and Davey Johnson both singled and Andy Etchebarren walked tp load the bases. Terry Crowley and Elrod Hendricks both struck out which set the stage for Don Buford's game winning 2 RBI single.
Frank went 4 for 5, with 2 homeruns, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI and Buford went 3 for 4 with 1 homerun, 1 run scored and 3 RBI.
It's also possible he lost some leverage on his demands when teams let him go to number 5. Still got the 2nd highest SB of the draft. I don't know if it's logical to suggest he would have settled at the same place for the Orioles. And how do you arrive at the bolded when he just signed for well above the slot at which he was selected?
