Lineup is Pretty Good

Hays wasn't an asset to the lineup.  He wasn't hitting any better than Mullins.

Hays wasn't having great results but he was having pretty good at-bats and seemed a lot less overmatched than Mullins usually does.

I like Hays but Mullins had a really nice series.

Bad News: ) Rio Ruiz )went hitless on Friday, and is 3-for-26 (.115) his past 8 games. His average for the year has fallen to .200.

Hanser Alberto )is 1-for-10 in this series so far, and is 4-for-24 (.167) his past 6 games ...... on the other hand, after hitting .305 for the 2019 season his average in 2020 is .306, and he leads the Major Leagues with 12 Doubles.

We can trot out a pretty good lineup on a nightly basis now. Mountcastle is up and mashing. Davis is “hurt”. Going into next year, there really isn’t going to be too many wishing for position players to come up other than Diaz.

We pretty much are what we are for a bit now. The only questions are what will Mancini be like next year?  Is Hays the new Reimold?  When will Diaz be up?

We’re going to score some runs.

So much unknown in CF, 1st and the left side of the IF.  We are also relying on Santander, who I don't think we can rely on yet.  Alberto seems like he can hit but I still need to see more and the power still isn't there.

I feel pretty good about Mountcastle and our C situation.  I think Hays will hit but, like Santander, where does his OBP end up and can he ever stay healthy?

The Os need to add some real bats and get rid of the some of the clutter/redundancy of the players on the team.

I don’t think you can “rely” on many players, which is why you continue to add players even if the position is already filled.
Santander isn’t Jeff Fiorentino, his potential was known and while he may be outperforming expectations now I wouldn’t expect him to disappear.

No but if he is what he was last year, that’s a very replaceable player.

Luis Matos! The 5 tool CF that never was.

Hernandez had a great presence behind the plate. Meh.
