I guess I wouldn't be totally shocked if Henderson made it here. The reports on him from Bowie were very nice. I'm sure Tony heard more. On the other hand, Baumann got shut down for an injury I don't know enough about.

That said, Baumann had helium before being shut down. Power arm that really made positive steps last year. I have Hall at 5 and Baumann at 6. Not sure where Henderson fits in. If not here, I assume he's next, but could imagine a case for a guy like Kremer based on his ML success.

Diaz isn't even an option? That's who I would have thought would be here.

It's got to be Hall and Henderson then. Since both are really far away from the majors, you can't make a "more ready, more proven" argument here, so I think Hall is #5 based on his ceiling and Henderson is #6

Could have seen the argument for Baumann if he didn't just go down with a flexor mass strain. That's a really bad sign

With Tony earlier stating that DL Hall struggles with both command and control, I am thinking the Baumann has surpassed Hall on the Hangout prospects list. I also think Gunnar has moved higher on the list.  Baumann and Henderson is my guess.

I was thinking that as well. Did Baumann or Zimmerman have the AA no hitter? I thought it was Zimmerman,  but he’s nowhere to be seen yet, and his debut was kind of meh.

I had to choose against Baumann because of his injury. Hall has control problems and those are really tough to fix, but he still has TOR potential, so I can’t see him falling far yet. Henderson is just a kid. Is he even 20 yet? But he’s the option, so he gets it. Hall- Henderson... and Harry..

Suddenly DL Hall is like Aaron Rodgers in the green room on draft night.

Baumann's great unknowable kind of raises the question of how to factor possible injury into prospect lists.  I do feel like Bowie Baumann 2019 did a lot to pitch away from the Kremer/Akin peloton up towards the lead pack, and would love to see a Hall head to head evaluation in a fair fight.  Alas TINSTAAPP - just hopes for good results when throwing in earnest commences next spring.

Diaz should already be in the majors, right @Can_of_corn ? ☺️

I’ll go Hall then Henderson.   Reports about Hall’s wildness concern me, but he’s still got a TOR repertoire and is young and athletic enough to overcome the control issues.    Plenty of risk there, but enough upside to leave him at 5.    Henderson drew raves from Matt Blood and others based on his Bowie performance, and Eric-OH’s reports during spring training also were glowing.    So, I’m putting him at 6 even though Baumann is also a very strong candidate for that spot.

I will say this without giving this away. From 5-7, I could have put them in any order and been able to build a solid case for that order.

I had Hall at 4 and missed so I will try again with him at 5. I can understand him slipping further, however. For 6, I went with Henderson, more because of the injury to Bauman than anything I know of Henderson.

Already loving the improved depth of this system. Guys with legit upside but injury/performance concerns are falling a little farther every year.

I will say the top seven in this organization are better than any top 7 I've ever evaluated in the 20+ years I 've been doing Orioles Top Prospects list.

I think this is sad.   So DL Hall will fall from 3 to 5-7.   The O's rebuild depends on the O's developing front of the rotation starters.   Hall falling does not bode well for the rebuild IMO.

    • The Orioles won't lose an affiliate. If Frederick or Delmarva was contracted Aberdeen would just be added. They will still have a Low-A, High-A, AA, and AAA teams. Only the New York Penn League was scheduled to go under which means they will just move one franchise to Aberdeen.
