This is where we will track significant activity throughout spring training. This will be updated with cuts and additional players acquired throughout the spring.

Starters

John Means 
(3/1) Will make his spring debut tomorrow against the Yankees and lines up for the Opening Day start on April 1st
(3/2) Wasn't able to get through his two innings due to pitch count, allowing one run on four hits in 1 2/3 IP. Was removed in the 1st due to pitch count but came back in the 2nd. Was reportedly 94-95 MPH and looked sharp but gave up some soft contact.
(3/7) Struggled putting batters away and was hit hard in his two innings of work. Allowed four runs on four hits and a walk with no strikeouts.
(3/12) Tossed his best outing of the spring, allowing one run on two hits and a walk over four innings of work. (7.11)
(3/17) Four strong innings once again makes him well on his way for his opening day start. (5.40)
(3/22) Labored through 3.2 IP needing 82 pitches, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks. Had three Ks but not a good outing over. (5.87)
(3/30) The opening day starter allowed 15 Earned runs on 20 hits and seven walks in 19 IP for a 7.11 ERA.
 

Matt Harvey (NRI)
(3/1) Hasn't pitched well in the majors since 2018 and was hammered last year in Kansas City. His lost spin on his stuff but will be given an opportunity to win a spot in the rotation or possibly in the pen.
(3/2) Will make his spring debut on Friday against the Blue jays.
(3/5) Struggled in his debut allowing three runs, on four hits in two innings of work. Publicly said afterwards that he needed better results but felt he gave up a lot of "weak contact" but statcast info showed four hard hit balls in his two innings of work and batters averaged 92.4 MPH EV. Fastball sat 91-94, but he was too much in the middle of the plate and did not throw enough quality strikes.
(3/15) Fastball was reportedly 94-96 in his four innings of work, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out four. Outings like this are giving him a good shot to start the year with the team.
(3/20) Probably cemented his place in the rotation, allowing just one run on a solo home run over four innings of work. (5.40)
(3/25) Contract was selected and added to the 40-man roster. Most likely will be used as a starter.
(3/26) Was named the 2nd starter and will start Saturday night in Boston.
(3/31) Won the 2nd starters job by pitching to a 4.80 ERA in 15 IP. 

Bruce Zimmermann
(3/1) If he pitches well he could be in the rotation.
(3/4) Pitched two innings after Kremer and was dominant. Struck out the side in his 1st inning on just 11 pitches, then came back and struck out one more in the second inning allowing just a single. Overall, 4 K's in 2 scoreless innings.
(3/9) Continues his great spring tossing three shutout innings, allowing just a walk while striking out two. Averaged 93-94 MPH on his fastball and got several swings and misses on sliders. (0.00)
(3/14) no starting pitching candidate has had a better spring. Tossed four more scoreless, hitless innings walking two while striking out four in four innings of work. Has not allowed a run this spring and it's hard to imagine him not being in this rotation. Set up to be the 3rd starter as the schedule works out from here if the Orioles decide to go with Dean Kremer as #2. Fastball sitting 93-95 and even touched 96 and his slider has been pretty unhittable.
(3/28) Was named the 3rd starter and will start Sunday in Boston.
(3/30) Hit hard in his last start of the spring, he ended up with a 4.73 ERA in 13.1 IP but struck out 13 and walked just 3.

Dean Kremer
(3/1) Healthy will need to pitch himself off this team
(3/2) Reportedly will get the start on Thursday which sets him up for the 2nd start of the season on April 3rd.
(3/4) Was not sharp in his spring debut getting lifted inning on the first inning after getting just two outs in 27 pitches. Allowed a solo home run in the 2nd and overall allowed three earned runs in 1 2/3 innings, walking two with one K. 
(3/9) Tossed three solid innings allowing just one hit and a walk with three strike outs. Gave up some loud outs but missed bats with his cutter and fastball. (5.79 ERA)
(3/15) Pretty strong outing allowing a run on three hits and two walk over three innings of work. The command needs to get a little better but he's improving. (4.70)
(3/19) His first two innings went well, but the wheels came off as he allowed five runs in his next 1.1 IP. Was not helped out by some misplayed balls. Didn't give up a ton of hard contact, but not a good outing overall. (7.36)
(3/24) Allowed a two run homer in the 3rd inning but otherwise was solid of 4.2 IP, striking out 5. (6.32)
(3/30) Ended up with a 6.32 ERA this spring which won him the 5th starter's job.

Jorge López
(3/1) Allowed two runs in two innings of work on five hits and walk. needed 47 pitches to get through two innings. For some reason though the Orioles are giving him every opportunity to win a spot in the rotation. 
(3/6) Pitched well allowing just one hit, striking out three in three innings of work.
(3/16) Continues to pitch well in his opportunities and should find a role on this team as a starter or long reliever. Allowed just a walk and hit while striking out five in three innings of work. (2.45)
(3/21) Got roughed up in the third inning of work when he allowed three home runs and was hurt by some shoddy defense as he allowed seven runs, three earned. Came back out and got two more outs before getting lifted on pitch count. (3.68)
(3/26) Using primarily his sinker and knucklecurve, dominated the Yankees over five innings allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out three. Most likely secured his spot in the rotation. (2.75)
(3/30) Will start the year as the 4th starter and ended with his 2.75 ERA, the only starter with ERA under 4.73.

Wade LeBlanc (NRI)
(3/1) Brought back despite tossing just one good start last year. Changeup pitcher who can provide some depth in the bullpen or as a swingman if needed.
(3/2) Will get the start tomorrow.
(3/3) Pitched two shutout innings, allowing just a walk while striking out two.
(3/13) Allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two in three innings of work. (3.60)
(3/19) Tossed three hitless innings, walking two and allowing an unearned run. Seems to be making a case for the Orioles to keep him in at least a long reliever role. (2.25)
(3/25) OPTED OUT is his contract when the Orioles did not add him to the 40-man roster. Still could return at some point if he doesn't find another major league opportunity.
(3/26) Resigned to Major League deal and will make the team anyways. Apparently signed a $700K contract after opting out on a contract that would have paid him 800K had he made the team before opting out. Question is whether he will be in the rotation or long relief where he could provide more value.
(3/31) Made team in bullpen role.
 

Relievers

Tanner Scott
(3/2) Made his debut pumping 98 MPH fastballs and hard sliders to strike out 2 in a hitless inning of relief.
(3/5) Allowed one hit but the stuff still looks great. On track to get a lot of high leverage innings this season.
(3/13) Was a little wild and allowed a run in his one inning of work. 
(3/17) Allowed a hit and walk, but struck out two in a scoreless inning.
(3/21) Came on to get one out in the 4th after pitching an inning the day before in a intrasquad game to give him some back to back game experience. (2.08)
(3/3) Ended with 2.84 ERA but walked five in 6.1 IP.

Cesar Valdez
(3/2) Struck out the side in his perfect inning of work in the 4th.
(3/12) Another scoreless inning but did allow a hit and walk. (0.00)
(3/25) Started, allowing a first inning run then tossing tow shutout innings but Hyde said it was a bullpen game. (1.80)
(3/30) El Swoosh allowed just one earned run all spring and had 10 k in 7 IP. ( 1.29)

Adam Plutko
(3/27) Acquired by the Orioles for cash considerations after he was out of options with Cleveland and was not going to make their club. 
(3/28) Elias said he will most likely start the year as a long reliever but could see some spot starts this year.

Dillon Tate
(3/3) Allowed a solo home run that was a bit wind blown to right, struck out one over his inning of work.
(3/7) Allowed three runs on four hits and a walk in an inning of work.
(3/20) Struck out the side in his one inning so of work. (9.00)
(3/25) Beside Akin, has had one of the worse springs for a pitcher expected to win a spot on the team this year. Allowed two runs on four hits while getting just two outs before getting taken out. (11.57)

Paul Fry
(3/2) Allowed three runs on four hits including two doubles in his one inning of work (27.00 ERA in spring). 
(3/5) Allowed three more runs on three hits and a walk in an inning of work. Velocity is fine and he really wasn't hit that hard so no worries really.
(3/12) Crushed again for five runs, four earned as they tried to stretch him out to two innings. (24.55).
(3/17)Stretched out once again and made it to 1.2 IP, allowing two walks and no runs or hits. Struck out two. (16.88)
(3/21) Allowed a run on two hits over two innings of work. (13.50)
(3/25) Pitched a perfect 9th. (11.88)
(3/30) Dropped his ERA all the way down to 10.66 after his poor start to the spring. Will be in the pen.

Shawn Armstrong
(3/1) Down 1.3 MPH off his 2020 velocity, Armstrong allowed a two-run homer in his one inning of work. 
(3/7) Tossed a perfect inning of work with one K.
(3/15) Allowed a hit and walk but no runs over one inning of work. (5.40)
(3/19) Tossed a scoreless inning, allowing just one hit. (4.15)
(3/25) Perfect inning of relief. (3.38)
(3/30) Got his work in and will be in the pen. (2.84)

Travis Lakins Sr.
(3/4) Allowed just one hit while striking out two in his spring debut.
(3/7) Tossed a perfect inning of work with one K.
(3/14) Disaster of an inning saw him allow four runs on three hits, including two home runs in one inning of work. (12.00)
(3/17) Still not looking good for him to make the team as he allowed a one run on a hit and two walks in one inning of work. (10.38)
(3/25) Tossed two shutout innings striking out two. (7.11)

Cole Sulser
(3/2) Pitched a perfect 7th inning against minor leaguers.
(3/6) Struck out two in another perfect inning of work.
(3/10) Allowed one run in one inning of work. (3.00)
(3/17) Tossed a scoreless 9th, but may have trouble making opening day roster in favor of pitchers who can go 2-3 innings. (2.25)
(3/21) Allowed a solo home run and striking out one in his one inning of work. (3.60)

Mac Sceroler
(3/1) Rule 5 pick made his spring debut and worked his way out of bases loaded jam. Walked two and allowed a single, needing 28 pitches to get through his frame against mostly minor leaguers. He sat 92-94 mph with fastball and showed a hard curve that he varied from 78-84 MPH including a few plus break balls that had good 12-6 break. Just one outing, but nothing stood out stuff wise as a guy you have to keep. If he had a bigger fastball the curve could really play.
(3/5) A disaster of an inning ended with them ending the inning with just two outs. Plenty of velocity (92-94) but wasn't able to throw enough quality strikes. Overall allowed five earned runs, on three hits, including two home runs, and two walks in just 2/3 innings. Did not help his chances of making the club.
(3/10) Rebounded to pitched a hitless inning, allowing just a walk in one inning of work. (19.55)
(3/20) Tossed two shutout innings and was reportedly 91-95MPH. Allowed one hit and struck out one.
(3/25) Came in relief of an ineffective Akin and 2.2 IP of shutout relief, allowing just two hits and a walk with a K. (6.43) 
(3/29) Was reportedly told he will make the team and will pitch out of the pen. Ended strong and only allowed runs in his one bad outing.

Tyler Wells
(3/1) Rule 5 pick made his debut as well tossing one scoreless innings allowing a walk. His fastball sat 93.7  to  95.4 MPH but didn't show a ton of life. He did get one swing and miss on his fastball up in the zone and recorded a strikeout on a curveball looking against a minor leaguer. With his size and fastball curveball combination he could be interesting in relief.
(3/5) Averaged 95 MPH on his fastball topping out at 96.5 MPH, tossed four sliders and two curveballs, but got just one whiff in 21 pitches. Both hits he allowed were hit hard including a 113.3 screaming double. Overall allowed two hits and run over his inning of work.
(3/10) Stretched out to two innings allowing three hits and walk while striking out two, but did not allow a run. (2.25)
(3/20) Struck out three and allowed just one hit over two innings of work. Might be tough to give back. (1.50)
(3/26) Sure is making the Orioles think long and hard about keeping him tossing three hitless innings, allowing just one walk while striking out six. Primarily used his 92-95 MPH fastball and 87-88 slider. (1.00 ERA)
(3/29) Was told he made the team and will pitch out the pen.


Catchers

Pedro Severino
(3/1) Odds on favorite to start most of the games at catcher this year.
(3/16) He should be glad he really isn't playing to win a position this year as he's totally not hit this spring. Another 0-for-3 has sunk his average down to .045 with a .166 OPS
(3/19) Picked up his first double of the spring in a 1-for-4 effort. Made a throwing error and looked a bit uninterested behind the plate.
(3/21) Went 1-for-3 with his first spring home run. (.108/.398)
(3/22) Playing back to back games, looked disinterested behind the plate at times but did go 1-for-3 with a double. (.125/.453). Made one of the worse throws you will see from a major league catcher when he compounded a passed ball (scored a WP but it clanked off his glove) by blindly throwing into right center field, missing the bad by at least 25 feet.
(3/25) Allowed a double steal, but went 2-fir-4 with a double. (.167/.538)

Chance Sisco
(3/1) Typically a spring training phenom, he's looking to get more opportunities this season.
(3/3) 1-for-2 with a K.
(3/10) Went 0-for-2 with a K. (.333/.788)
(3/15) It's been a pretty bad spring so far where his hitting hasn't been good and his defense has been it's usual shaky self. Went 0-for-2 with a walk and K. (.200/.568)
(3/20) Went 0-for-1 with a walk and allowed a stolen base. Has not look good offensively or defensively this spring. (.158/.491)
(3/25) Awful spring continues, 0-for-3. (.120/.387)

1st Base

Trey Mancini
(2/28) Got a standing ovation before his first at bat and then singled sharply.
(3/6) Went 1-for-3. (.222/.495)
(3/9) Went 1-for-3 (.250/.536) but still no extra base hits.
(3/15) Went 1-for-3, but still has no extra base hits. (.300/.618). Not saying it's time to start worrying but would like to see him get into some balls here in the last few weeks of spring training.
(3/19) Finally got his first extra base hit of the spring hitting a long home run into the wind that should head off any concern about his lack of power this spring. Ended up 2-for-4 with three hard hit balls. (.321/.768)
(3/25) Went 1-fo-4 and is looking like the middle of the Orioles order could be dangerous. (.333/.817)

2nd Base

Ramón Urías
(3/1) Got start at 2B, Went 0-for-3 but did hit the ball hard one time.
(3/2) Got the start at 3B and went 1-for-2 (.400 OPS).
(3/4) Playing SS for Galvis, hit a long three-run homer in a 1-for-3 effort (.250/.875). 
(3/5) Getting a lot of playing time. Went 1-for-2 with a walk.
(3/7) Went 1-for-3 playing SS, but made an error. 
(3/13) Getting a lot of playing time at SS to see if he can effectively be a utility guy. Went 0-for-2. (.250/.718)
(3/16) An 0-for-3 is not helping his up hill battle to claim the utility spot. Has shown occasional pop though this spring. (.231/.670)

Pat Valaika
(3/1) Started at SS and went 1-for-2 with a walk. Will most likely be the team's utility player filling in all over the infield.
(3/5) Went 1-for-3 with a long 420 ft home run. (.250/.958)
(3/15) Got the start at second base but went 0-for-3 with 2 K. Probably has the inside track to the utility job this year, but may want to heat up a but as the spring comes to a close over the next two weeks. (.160/.542). Worth noting his main competition in Ramon Urias is getting a lot of looks at SS.
(3/19) Went 0-for-2, but made a nice play in the at SS to throw a runner out by a step. (.143/.486).
(3/20) Went 2-for-2 with a 2B and HR to break out of a spring slump. Played 3B and 1B. (.200/.739)
(3/21) Played 1B, went 1-for-3 with a double. (.212/.763)
(3/25) Started at 2B and getting lots of playing time. Went 0-for-2 with a BB. (.195./681)

Shortstop

Freddie Galvis
(2/28) Went 0-for-1 with a walk, K, and made a fielding error.
(3/4) INJ  Was scratched from today's lineup due to getting treatment on his hip.
(3/10) Finally back to playing, went 3-for-3. (.444/.944)
(3/15) Went 1-for-3 with his first jack of the spring. (.333/.908)
(3/25) Went 0-for-3 with a BB and has been slumping of late this spring. (.242/.649)

Third Base

Maikel Franco
(3/15) Officially signed and should be the Orioles everyday third baseman this year but could start the year in alternate camp until he gets in game shape.
(3/21) Made his spring debut at 3B. Went 1-for-3 with a 2B and RBI. 
(3/25) Went 0-for-4. (.200/.800)
(3/26) Actually made a start at 1B going 1-for-4. (.214/.714)

Rio Ruiz
(3/1) Goes in as the odds on favorite to win the 3B job. Went 0-for-3 with two Ks.
(3/10) ILL Has been out with an "illness" but hasn't played in three days and has only one hit this spring and no walks. (.083/.167)
(3/16) Back from his illness and after collecting two hits yesterday, went 1-for-2 with a K. With the signing of Maikel Franco, the writing in on the wall and he's most likely not making the team.
(3/19) Getting regular PAs while Franco gets into game shape. Could be the opening day third baesmen if Franco is not ready. Went 1-for-2 but made a throwing error. (.273/.742) 
(3/26) Still getting some playing time so could still make the team with Stewart probably starting the season on the IL with his hamstring. (.257/.669)
(3/31) Made team with Stewart going on IL to start the year.

Outfield

Ryan Mountcastle 
(3/1) Going to be the opening day LF. Went 0-for-2 with a sac fly in his debut. Also lost a ball in the sun on the warning track that turned an out into a ground rule double.
(3/3) 0-for-3 and still hitless this spring.
(3/5) Picked up his first hit of the spring on a long 417 ft home run hit at 109 MPH. (.215/.611)
(3/6) Typically a slow starter, another 0-for-2 with a K. (.100/.491)
(3/9) Made some nice defensive plays in LF, but still struggling at the plate going 0-for-3 with 2Ks. (.077/.379)
(3/11) The good news is he hit the ball hard in all three at bats, going 1-for-3 with a double. The bad news is he dropped a pretty easy fly ball that he had to run a ways for down the left field line for an error. 
(3/16) After picking up his second homer of the year yesterday, went 0-for-3 today. (.160/.554). 
(3/19) Went 2-for-4 with a lazor single and an oppo home run to RF. (.219/.743)
(3/21) Continues to heat up going 2-for-4 with a home run (3). (.250/.882)
(3/25) Staying hot going going 2-for-3 with his team leading 4th home run of the spring. Even stole a base. (.286/.986)

Austin Hays
(3/1) Going to be the opening day CF most likely though in theory Cedric Mullins is his competition.  Went 2-for-2 in his spring debut.
(3/3) 2-for-3 with a long two-run home run. Off to a hot start.
(3/9) Went 1-for-3 with 2Ks playing RF. (.385/1.085)
(3/13) Went 0-for-2 with a walk and K. Only one extra base hit this spring (HR). (.286/.804)
(3/15) Smacked his 2nd home run of the spring while playing left field. (.292/.912)
(3/19) nothing wrong with the bat this spring as he went 2-for-4 with a 2B. Made an error in RF when he non-chalanted a ball near the fence and it popped out of his glove. Worth noting he batted lead off. (.387/1.119)
(3/25) Monster game going 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three-run homer. Made two outfield assists including an on the fly absolute rocket that threw a runner out at the plate from deep RF. (.409/1.197) 

Anthony Santander
(2/28) Going to be the opening day RF.  Went 0-for-2 with a K in his spring debut.
(3/2) Walked in all three PAs. Not bad for a guy who doesn't walk much.
(3/4) Walk machine this spring, no hits but two more walks. (.000/.667)
(3/6) Picked up his first hit going 1-for-3. (167/.712)
(3/10) Went 1-for-2 with a walk. (.250/.821)
(3/13) Weird spring training stats for him as he's drawn a team leading 7 walks, but has no extra base hits. (.200/.729)
(3/15) Went 2-for-3, with his first 2B of the spring and an RBI. (.250/.791)
(3/19) Went 2-for-3 with a double as DH. (.318/.892)
(3/23) Went 1-for-2 with a walk. Has drawn 10 walks this spring for a .487 OBP. (.310/.866)
(3/27) INJ Missed his fourth consecutive game with a "sore side". His season was cut short by an oblique injury last year.

Cedric Mullins
(2/28) Most likely going to be the 4th outfielder on this team. Gave up batting right-handed to focus on batting left-handed. Should get some ABs against tough righties, spelling Hays and Mountcastle. Went 1-for-3 in his spring debut playing CF. Made a throwing error though.
(3/2) Went 2-for-3 with a triple (just missed a homer) and an RBI including both hits against left-handed pitching batting left-handed.
(3/4) This new left-handed only swing has been hot this spring. Went 1-for-3 with a double (.444/1.222)
(3/9) Went 1-for-3. (.389/1.000)
(3/13) Went 0-for-3 but continues to be bat lead off and play CF often. Unlike his teammates, he's only struck out twice this spring when hitting .333 with a team leading 4 extra base hits for a .875 OPS.
(3/16) Went 0-for-2, but drew his first walk an stole his first base of the spring while playing CF. (.308/.833)
(3/19) Dropped to 9th in the batting order and went 2-for-4 with a nice home run off a hard throwing lefty. (.313/.886)
(3/25) Went 1-for-3 with a walk and K and stolen base. (.261/.742)

Did Not Make Team

SP

Keegan Akin
(3/1) Healthy and will need to pitch himself off this team
(3/5) Made his spring debut and struggled with his command, allowing two walks, a hit and one earned run over 2 IP. Needed 43 pitches and missed a lot low in the zone, particularly with his offspeed pitches. Fastball was between 89-93 and averaging around 92.
(3/15) Struck out five and allowed just one runs in three innings of work. (5.40)
(3/25) An absolute disaster of an outing where he only went 2.1 but allowed six earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out three. Was lined up to be the 3rd starter but easily has been the worse realistic starting pitcher candidate. Will need to be real solid in his last start or risks not only not being in the rotation, but could start the year in the alternate camp. (10.00)
(3/26) CUT Talk about a guy who pitched himself off a team. Showed up overweight and even by his standards and then pitched terribly. Orioles sent him a message.

Felix Hernandez (NRI)
(3/1) Reportedly looks a little heavy but is healthy and will be given every opportunity to win a spot in the rotation.
(3/2) Will make his debut against the Tigers Saturday in Sarasota.
(3/6) Allowed two earned runs on a hit and two walks in two innings of work. Fastball reportedly was only in the mid-80s, topping 88. 
(3/11) Averaging just 85 MPH on his sinker, it took him 54 pitches before being pulled with two outs in his third inning of work. Allowed four runs, three earned on four hits but wasn't fooling anyone. Gave him five hard hits. With no fastball velocity left, all of his pitches are within about 7 MPH from each other (Sinker-85, changeup-81, curveball-78). It does not appear King Felix has anything left in the tank. 
(3/16) INJ Pitched one inning, striking out two, but left the game and was seen leaving with a trainer to the clubhouse. Hyde said after the game he had soreness in the right elbow and didn't want to take any unnecessary risks at this time of the year. either way it doesn't bode well for Hernandez who had been throwing in the mid-80s all spring after throwing 88-89 in previous spring with Atlanta before opting out of the 2020 season.

Ashton Goudeau
(3/1) Reportedly has looked pretty good in camp so far but hasn't had any success over AAA.
(3/3) Pitched the last two innings of the game allowing just one hit and earning the "save".
(3/13) Allowed two runs in two innings of work, but did strike out four. (4.50)
(3/16) CUT The Orioles could convert him to a long relief option if there is no room in the AAA rotation, but he will compete for a spot there.
(3/18) Lost in Waivers to Giants
 

Josh Rogers (NRI)
(2/28) Allowed one run in one inning in spring debut.
(3/8) CUT Officially cut from spring training roster 

Mickey Jannis (Ex)
(3/2) Pitched a perfect inning of knuckleball relief.
(3/6) Allowed a run on a hit, two walks and two wild pitches in an inning of work.

Michael Baumann
(3/1) Heading for AAA, Baumann could be one of the first starters brought up if needed assuming he's healthy and pitching well.
(3/12) CUT Never pitched in a game despite the Orioles saying they were going to "take it a little slower". Was not going to make the team out of spring training but a little concerning he never got an inning of work, but the team may have taken it much slower with him once they realized the AAA season is not going to start until May now.
(3/20) Has been pitching on the back fields and reportedly looks healthy.

Zac Lowther
(3/1) Heading for AAA, but pitched out of some trouble in spring debut allowing two base runners but no runs. Fastball sat 88-91 and his threw five changeups out of his 14 pitches. He really struggles command wise and two of his outs were loud outs including a ball caught on the warning track. Only threw one curveball and no sliders.
(3/12) CUT Will start the year in the AAA rotation.
(3/24) Tossed three shutout innings after coming in relief and getting out of a bases loaded, no-out situation. (0.00)

Alexander Wells

(3/12) INJ Threw one pitch and had to come out with an oblique injury. Will be out for at least a month and will open the year on the IL.
(3/16) INJ Placed on the 60-day DL when the Orioles signed Franco, meaning the injury is severe enough to knock him out of game actions until at least late May, early June.

Isaac Mattson
(2/28) Allowed a home run and walked two in his Orioles spring debut.
(3/6) Allowed a walk and hit, but no runs in one inning of work.
(3/12) CUT Will start the year in the AAA rotation if his oblique is healed.
(3/22) Came in two runs on allowed three hits (one should have been error on Ruiz) including a two-run two-out double off the fence. Sat 92-95 on the fastball, with low spin rate changeup and slider. Came back in for a second inning and was better, threw three non-competitive curveballs. (6.23)

(2/28) Brought in the game in the 2nd inning to face major leaguers, pitched his way out of a jam allowing two hits and walk but not a run.
(3/3) Allowed a hit, but struck two in a scoreless inning of work.
(3/7) Disaster of an inning saw five runs cross the plate on five hits and walk in one inning of work.
(3/15) Got the two batters he faced to get the Orioles out of a jam.
(3/19) Allowed three unearned runs as his defense put up one of the worse displays of baseball in some time. Allowed just one hit in .2 IP. (10.38)
(3/25) Allowed two earned runs on three hits and a walk and looks like it will be an uphill battle to make the team. (11.81)

Evan Phillips (NRI)
(3/1) Walked one and struck out two in a scoreless inning in his spring debut. His velocity (92.3 avg) was down about two MPH from his 2020 numbers, but he did throw one plus changeup for a strike out. 
(3/7) Allowed a run on two hits and a walk with two K's in one inning.
(3/10) Cut Was a long shot to make the team anyways but was sent back to the minor league complex. Will most likely start year in Norfolk.

(3/2) Got the only batter he faced to finish off an inning.

(3/6) Made his spring debut and walked all three batters he faced before getting pulled.

(3/11) Did get in to get the final out of an inning. 89-90 mph on fastball.

(3/16) Was sent as potential pitcher but never pitched despite the teams shutting things down after seven innings.

Conner Greene (NRI)
2/28 - Struck out two of the three batters he faced and reportedly hit 97 MPH. That will open some eyes.
(3/7) Hit 98 MPH on his fastball and showed a nice slider, but gave up a run scoring 2B in his one inning of work. Struck out two more. (4.50)
(3/13) Sat 95-97 on his fastball while throwing a perfect inning of work. Has allowed just one earned run on two hits with five strikeouts in three innings of work. 
(3/16) Another two shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out one. The fact he's stretching out a but for two innings could suggest they are seriously lookin at him to provide some length in the bullpen. (1.80)
(3/23) Continues to be impressive, going 3 shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three. Has not walked a batter in 8 IP this spring with 9Ks. (1.13)
(3/30) Pitched well enough to win a job but may head to alternate camp to start year and await his opportunity due to not being on the 40-man roster. (2.00)
(3/31) CUT Will start year in AAA but should get a opportunity this year if he pitches well.

Eric Hanhold (NRI) 
(2/28) Pitched the 3rd inning against major leaguers and allowed two runs, one earned on two hits including a home run in his innings of work.
(3/4) Pitched a perfect 7th inning, striking out one.
(3/13) Averaged 95-96 MPH on his fastball with a 2900+ spin rate slider while tossing a perfect inning of relief. Has allowed just one earned run in a his team high five games covering 5 IP.  
(3/16) Brought in the second inning after Felix Hernandez was removed and had a horrendous outing, allowing six runs on four hits and two walk while getting just two batters out. Wonder if he just wasn't mentally prepared to come into the game of didn't warm up enough.
(3/19) Tossed a decent inning allowing just a single, striking out one in a scoreless frame. Threw 95-96 MPH showing good armside run with two-seamer.
(3/21) Still getting a lot of looks. Allowed two runs on three hits, including a two-run homer. (10.57)
(3/24) Came in relief and allowed two hits and walk in .1 IP. (10.13)
(3/30) Nobody pitched in more games but ended up with a 9.00 ERA in 9 IP. Heading to alternate camp.

(3/16) CUT Should be the everyday 3B at Norfolk this year though he still could see some 2B time.

Seth Mejias-Brean (EX)
(2/28) With some major league experience in SD, he'll have an opportunity to win the 3B job with a good spring. Most likely heading to Norfolk unless he breaks out and Ruiz struggles badly.
(3/13) Not getting much of a look and should be cut soon. Hitless this spring in three PAs.

Heston Kjerstad (NRI)
(2/28) First round pick last year has yet to show up to camp. Mike Elias said Kjerstad was sidelined due to “an episode of myocarditis,” a viral infection that causes inflammation of the heart muscle and will report late. 
(3/10) Mike Elias states he will not be in major league camp but will report at either the alternate camp or when minor league spring training opens.
(3/12) CUT Will report to the alternate camp when that opens after spring training so the Orioles brass can get an idea of what kind of shape he's in and decide what level he will start. Most likely heading to Delmarva is he's in playing shape. The Orioles brass have never seen him take a swing since being drafted with second overall pic.

Terrin Vavra (EX)
(3/1) May get a look in the outfield as well as 2B and SS. Heading to Bowie to start 2021.
(3/5) Came into the game for Ruiz but played LF. Has played the outfield exclusively this spring so it appears the Orioles have transitioned him. 
(3/16) Getting some fill in work late in games, mostly in outfield where it seems the Orioles may try him this season.

DJ Stewart
(3/1) Has the inside track on being the everyday DH. Went 1-for-3 with a long home run to right field in his spring debut.
(3/3) Two games in and two homers. Hit a solo shot to RF. Went 1-for-3 with a K overall.
(3/10) INJ Out with a hamstring injury, reports are he could be back on the field by next week, but any lingering issues could cause him to start the season on the IL if he's not game ready.
(3/16) INJ Hyde said he could play this spring, but he's getting dangerously close to opening day and has just three games of actions under his belt. 
(3/25) INJ Playing in intrasquad game but has not been given the full go in spring training games.Steve Wilkerson (NRI)
(3/1) More of a utility, his ability to play CF could make him a 4th outfielder at AAA Norfolk.

I appreciate your handicapping some of the players: when I compared the stuff of the rule five guys, I thought Wells appeared to have a higher ceiling than Sceroler, and was curious why it appeared to be the other way around.

I hope that you will continue to share your thoughts about which guys are doing better or worse, it’s way too early to make definite conclusions, but certainly not too early to suggest that a guy is helping or hindering his chances.

My own feeling is that every guy who has an option is going down, and the guys not on the roster will only be added if they are really contributing.

And Sulser and Goudeau are on the DFA hot seat.

It's a little early for anyone's stock to be too up or down IMHO. Obviously players want to do well and players who are battling for a roster spot need to have good results, so yes, the guys you mentioned as having stock go down have not pitched well.

Hernandez is a the guy that probably saw his stock drop the most by pitching in the mid-80s. Not sure he has the secondaries, command and trick pitch to get away with that in the AL East. 

Well's velocity has been pretty good and overall I like him. Still not sure if he has enough promise to keep him as a Rule 5 guy for the season, but a few good outings and he could be in that conversation.

Cumberland is organizational guy for me who could come up and fill in as a backup catcher for a little bit in a pinch. He doesn't hit enough or play defense well enough to be a regular backup in my opinion.
