Interesting historical fact... That clip in the Blues Traveler above... the two steam engines slamming into each other at high speed. That really happened. Caused a real tragedy. The Union Pacific RR or Southern Pacific of the 1870's-1880's, I forget... They were going to decommission/scrap two old Engines. So they figured... they might as well make some money off it. So they SOLD TICKETS! Fired up the two steam engines on the day, and ran them headlong into each other at full speed. They miscalculated... when the trains hit each other, boilers at full steam 212+ degrees... they sprayed rivets and metal fragments for MILES. ALL over the assembled crowd who BOUGHT TICKETS. Don't remember if anyone died but many, many bloody injuries. A tragic scene. All for the cause of a bunch of RR whores trying to squeeze every dollar out of every situation they faced. Capitalism at it's BEST! -
