There’s got to be more to this story than those tweets.

I agree.  I went back and read most of them; seems like most have to do with being an O's fan, Guinness beer, and the typical dialogue that is lockstep with the current media narratives right now.  I see nothing that would get him in trouble within the Twitter/Social Media world, let alone an employer.

Someone made a good point about how it could be for talking politics in general, which again, I agree should be an organization's stance on the topic if they really want to maximize its fanbase.  However, the Orioles themselves are lockstep with the media narratives too, so I find it suspicious to punish someone for echoing the same call to arms as his employee.  That would be some crazy Gulag Archipelago S#!% right there if that was the case.

I have to believe it has nothing to do with his Tweets at all.  Has to be some behind the scenes office environment stuff.  If it does have to do with his Tweets, then my head is officially spinning.

Aaron Wilson just got fired for saying something in a radio interview about the Deshaun Watson situation. Scary times right now. Cannot voice an opinion without risking your career.

To paraphrase Henry Ford: “You can have any opinion you want as long as it is mine.”

it’s scary.

The offending tweets could have been deleted because when I checked an archive of his Twitter page yesterday I saw nothing controversial. Then again what is controversial to the Angelos family may be different than the average public opinion.

You can read about it here. Apparently Wilson called the DeShaun Watson allegations a money grab.

Aaron Wilson, the Houston Texans beat writer for the Houston Chronicle, is out of a job, according to Defector's Diana Moskovitz and Kalyn Kahler, just a few weeks after an eyebrow-raising interview with a Boston radio show.

During the interview with "The Greg Hill Show"on WEEI on March 19, Wilson repeatedly cast doubt on Watson's accusers, calling the allegations against the Texans quarterback a "money grab" and comparing negotiations between Watson's camp and Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, who is representing the plaintiffs, to a terrorist negotiation.

Not the smartest thing to say on the record...

Wilson’s Twitter profile says he still covers the team and he was tweeting about stuff yesterday.  Issued an apology a few hours ago.

Even though many listeners probably found it refreshing to hear. Maybe even some of his editors (privately, of course).

The Sun ran a story on Wagner’s firing and both he and the team declined comment.    So, no further details.

Maybe Wagner got a settlement contingent on signing an NDA not discuss his dismissal from the organization.

Listening to the broadcast, it appears they have given the job to Adrienne Roberson, who has filled in before and was the Bowie Baysox PA announcer for years.

Permanently?  They called her hurriedly from Bowie Thursday, and then said she would do the rest of this homestead.
