I'll slow my roll on the kid that they're hyping like they are when he fails. We're about to see him in AAA. If he can't be ready 12 months from now than the hype isn't real.

Baumann would have been AAA last year if it happened. My only concern with him is health. Again, if 12 months isn't in the cards than he's not the guy we think he is.

Agree that a year from now is realistic.

Im just not sure if they are putting Bradish on this level yet.

Here’s part of a synopsis I wrote of a Matt Blood interview last fall:

“Geoff & Brett asked Blood who are some of the pitchers that impressed him a lot at the Bowie site, and he specifically mentioned Bradish unprompted.  He said that while guys like Hall, Rodriguez & Baumann (among others) are all very impressive and get a lot of attention on top prospect lists, Bradish is someone who is under the radar nationally, but not for them.”

If there’s one thing I don’t care about, it’s pitcher wins in the minors.   They matter even less there than in the majors.

Now, I will be interested to see how long the O’s are going to stick with what looks like a 75-pitch limit, for other reasons.    It’s a tricky year due to last year’s inactivity and the desire to limit workload this season, but to really assess a starting pitcher candidate you do need to know how they do on pitches 75-100.    I’m thinking they take the kid gloves off at some point, but gradually.

I realize it's pretty uncool in 2021 to worry about wins.  I remember stressing over Palmer getting to 20 wins a few times in the 70s. It still means something to me for the starting pitcher to win the game.

I have defended the wins stat against the charge that it is “useless” many times.    It’s not useless, just very imprecise and dependent on things not in the pitcher’s control.    But I’ve never cared about it at all at the minor league level.

Yea I saw that.  Nonetheless, I think we need to see more of him.  Definitely worth getting excited about though.

Anyone know when he is scheduled to pitch again?  I'm thinking about going to one of the games in Brooklyn this weekend.

Looks like he is going every 5 or 6 days.   His last start was 5/21 so that means he should be pitching tonight or tomorrow.   Sorry it doesn't appear that he will be pitching this weekend.

Glad to see it. I will try to catch him at Bowie in the next couple weeks.
