I’m not a Mike Elias fan …. I’ve criticized his draft strategy with the exception of drafting Adley which any previous Oriole GM could’ve gotten right. I’m also not really impressed with any of the trades he’s made. What we do have is a top farm system. I challenge you to go back to the last time we had a top 5 farm. Also one that was not just top heavy with a player or two. I’m guessing we have our best farm system since the 70s.
Mullins will be 28 with a skill set that does not typically decline until the mid-30s.
I think the plan is to compete for good by 2024. If that's the case, I'm fine with that.
Means is a guy I'm not going to just get rid of, but if I can get a good return with a young ready or nearly ready starting pitching prospect as a key part, then I would be ok with moving him.
I work for a fortune 100 company in Risk Management. We spend a lot of time assessing "repetitional risk" of doing or not doing certain activities and transactions. About time the O's started thinking about Repetitional Risk as they conduct their offseason activities. Getting crushed on social media and mainstream media is not a good look.
