Now hear this! Now Hear this!

Anybody else a little worried that another team will hear about this and swoop in before his physical?

Or am I just inventing stuff to worry about now. :o

Yeah, I'm actually hoping the media outlets don't pick up on this.

I think it's too late for that. Besides, Tex wouldn't spurn a guy who is going to offer him 200 million dollars potentially to play for his favorite team...

If he wants to be an Oriole, then that's all that matters. PGA can make his dream come true. No other team can offer him that.

If this is true, this is one of the greatest cover-ups ever. The national media still thinks we're lowballing him at 7 years. After the Loewen thing and just being completely off the national radar for so long...,man this is going to be sweet if this goes down.

Maybe it's just me being a Ravens fan 1a (and O's fan 1b) but, no, I'm not worried one bit about that. If we get the man to the game, we get him. Simple as that.

My adrenaline for the Raven game is already rocking, somehow I have to sleep at some point...

Only thing I'm worried about is the typical - message board speculation that happens here and everywhere else in sports in this day and age.

Yeah, I agree. I'm really not too worried about.

I asked 'my guy' that is involved in the game tomorrow' date=' meaning the logistics side, and he flatly denied he heard anything of Tex coming. Denied so much, it was almost like it was a smokescreen. ***This was prior to Roy's post.*** When he responded 'no' I thought it was either A) I was being crazy for thinking this would be the greatest PR move for the team, ever, or B) he was just coming over the top to refute everything to cover something because of the way it was said.

I'm not insinuating anything at all but, it was a thought I had prior to Roy, when the first person mentioned Tex being at the game.

Just my thinking at this very moment.[/quote']

Well, I'm not sure why anybody from the Ravens or M&T would know if he's a private guest of a suite.

So, bear with me here.

IF (emphasis on "if") Tex has a physical scheduled for Monday, that means he's already agreed to terms with the O's, correct?

So Roy is hearing through sources that Tex' dad says he wants to be an O if only he could see 9 or 10. This could very well be generated by Boras and or is minions. Tex at the Ravens game with PA either will or will not happen. If it does it means they are seriously wooing him and the 9 or 10 offer is being discussed at least. The physical could be about the LAA report about Tex' knee problems and PA's medical due diligence before a final offer is made. Just MO.

It's 12:30am, Sunday morning. I thought, hey, why not check out the Hangout before I head to bed. Yeah, like I'm gonna sleep now. Thanks, Roy! I can't take this after last year and Bedard, I really can't take this.... (in search of smilie with head banging into a wall)...

I think it's more like if Tex agrees to terms tomorrow they'll have a physical on Monday...

If we win tomorrow and Teixera signs with us.

It just might be the happiest day of my life....

I can't quite agree. The birth of my daughter, and another one coming in 6-7 weeks will trump the happiest day(s) ever.

However, it will be top 3 Sports days ever, if not #1. Other 2 - Ravens Super Bowl & 1986 Mets (sorry guys, I grew up a Met fan until 1991 when I gained my Maryland ties). I can't explain it, but this Ravens game tomorrow is a death match to me. I want this more than any game I ever have.

Sometimes teams have a physical before a contract is signed. I would make the assumption that we've made a 10 year deal and it goes discuss, physical, sign. I remember Angelos talking about this after the Albert Belle mishap, get the physical before. But then again you wouldn't expect you would have that luxury when you are in a "bidding war."

    • o   We all know Hunter Harvey's overall track record in regard to injuries ........ he's had his share, and them some.   That said, in 2019 Harvey went through the season without any major injuries, pitching in 34 games overall ........ 26 games in the Minors (11 of which were starts) and 8 games in the Majors. That was good for 82 Innings Pitched overall. Harvey felt some soreness in his right bicep in early September. He pitched in one more game on September 13th, and the Orioles then decided to shut him down to play it safe.      Hunter Harvey Shut Down, but Future Looks Bright (By Todd Karpovich) https://pressboxonline.com/2019/09/20/orioles-rhp-hunter-harvey-shut-down-but-future-looks-bright/     Just when Oriole fans thought that it was safe not to cover their eyes, it was reported that Harvey was going on the IL with elbow tightness just 2 days before the start of the 2020 season ......         Oriole fans from Brewster, NY to Baltimore and everywhere in between thought to themselves, "Oh no !!! Not again !!!" When the front-office stated that it was minor and that they were not at all concerned about any long-term effects, many Oriole fans thought to themselves, "Yeah, right" But lo and behold, Harvey gradually rested and rehabbed his right arm and began pitching for the Orioles on August 30th ...... and has pitched to the tune of a 2.35 ERA and a 1.043 WHIP over 7.67 Innings Pitched. He has already surpassed his 2019 Major League Innings Pitched total (Harvey pitched 6.33 Innings for the Orioles last year.)   So the question is ...... can the Orioles and their fans stop wincing every time they hear his name, and hope that it is not yet another injury ??? Or is Hunter Harvey destined to be a chronically-injured pitcher ??? o o
    • For the same reason, we are likely to get nothing back for Nunez. I am not suggesting we keep Nunez, but possibly trading Stewart for a B/C prospect of equivalent value. If we are actually trying to trade for something of value (like a 3B) we would get more for Stewart. We could still try to trade Nunez and have OF/1B/DH of Hays, Santander, Mullins, Mountcastle, Mancini plus Diaz. I really have a hard time seeing DJ fitting in with this team moving forward.
