Teixeira Watch: Part VII- Owner Says Sox Are Out

Recommended Posts

ESPN just discussed the Red Sox owner John Henry saying he does not see the Red Sox being a factor as they have been outbid. They commented how things had changed since earlier today. It's the Orioles and Nationals slugging it out. He is not going out West. Who will win? Boras and Angelos will both win. Boras gets top dollar and Angelos beats out the Red Sox.

Could we have really put the WOW offer out there already?

I think so, it was getting close and im guessing they made their move. AM wanted to wait things out and see how things progresses, and I guess he felt it was time!

Bring him Home!

Henry's words: "We met with Mr. Teixeira and were very much impressed with him. After hearing about his other offers, however, it seems clear that we are not going to be a factor."

Could this mean that he heard about the "Wow" offer Belkast was tallking about and decided it was too much? It kind of makes sense if 8/180 was not enough. If that was what the actual bid was.

OK, so I'm new at this posting a link thing but here...I think...

http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?showtopic=40134&st=20

Corsi Combover says:

"Mike Lynch on Ch 5:

Sox are OUT

A source says there is a $200M deal on the table

The Yankees are in it

Boras believes he'll have a deal sometime tomorrow

Sox only wanted to spend $160M, then were willing to go to $185

No f'n way they were going to $200M"

So...could it be the MFY's?? :cussing:

Hope I did this well enough for the board, also hope it's relevant and not old news...I tried.

Roch is echoing this story. Just a blurb with the article cited.

The game is afoot!

Sound the bugle!

Sound the bugle, indeed!

C'mon Birds, you can do this.

I will spend as much, hell, I will borrow as much as I can to buy O's gear and fly back home often to help offset the purchase price...
