Soo one MLB game already postponed. Wonder if we can miss/skip Eaton pitching...:o

Then we can continue our win streak. no?

Lord willin...

Damn, Thorne says it's gonna play.

And to further answer your question, it's like this:

Say we play three innings in this game, the rain comes back and it gets postponed until August and we have to finish it later. Say we're up 3-0 on a Markakis bomb...well, that homer doesn't officially count in his stats until the game is finished. And that homer would count as a homer he hit in the middle of May, not August. It'd retroactively be his 66th career homer, any homers hit past tonight's postponement would be bumped up one career number.

So whatever the outcome of the game would be in August, it'd be "plugged back into" the schedule of mid-May. If we were to win it, it'd be part of the win streak, if not, it'd just be another loss.

I hope I explained that clearly and I'm pretty sure thats how it works.

Dood! If CWG doesn't fall for that line of bs, I'll be seriously surprised! You go boy! :wedge:

Tampa is catching heck from the Indians. It's 4-0 and that got the bases full nobody out.

Now 7-0. Good thing I bet on Cleveland today! :clap3:

I remember the whipping the Indians put on the Yankees not too long ago. 18 runs in one inning wasn't it? Crazy!

That's true if the game is suspended.

If it's called before it's a regulation game, then the ump says "No game" and none of it counts...

If today's game is suspended and then competed in August, then even the part of it that's played in August counts as if it happened today. So, if somebody was chasing DiMaggio's hitting streak, and if he had it except for the streak being broken up by no hits in today's game, then if got a bingle in the part played in August to complete it, then he'd get his hitting streak back...

Toronto over the White Sox by 5. I hope they're playing over their heads. They can't keep this up. Can they?

    • I already said why it’s foolish in several different posts. 1). There’s no hurry 2). He hasn’t shown to be good enough  3) I want to see how he does with bet tw r weapons and a better system To name a few... As I have said, this version of Lamar is not worth a monster extension.  I just can’t fathom how anyone can believe that to be the case unless your goal is to not win titles.     I think he can become the player who is worth the extension but he has to show it first.  I’m not going to just assume that he will be that guy. BtW, your reasoning was why you sign him to that extension instead of franchising him.  I’m not saying I am for franchising him(and you have TWO more seasons before you have to think about doing this anyway), I am saying that because you have that in your back pocket, there isn’t an immediate hurry to sign him.  You have him under your control for a while.  So, make him prove that he is worth that extension.
    • This is true. I hope it's nothing, but we have definitely seen a history of guys shut down with elbow "strains", feel good over the winter when not pitching, then needing surgery. Let's hope not but I agree, I'll be holding my breath a bit until I see him healthy and throwing well this spring in games.
    • I understand that the O’s are planning to field two GCL teams this year.    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mlb.com/amp/news/orioles-minor-league-affiliates-for-2021.html https://www.masnsports.com/steve-melewski/2020/12/os-expected-to-field-two-gcl-teams-notes-on-shortstop-and-more.html
    • Agreed. I actually like see both him and Hernandez sharing some time at SS or if his arm isn't as strong, slide him over to 2B and see what they look like together.
    • We'll see, but I just don't see Elias concerned over control six years from now with a 25-year old. Plus, we don't know what the next bargaining agreement will hold for free agency or arbitration eligibility.
    • What makes it foolish?  I gave you a legit (imo) reason why you would want to sign a (shorter) extension now, and your only response has been to proclaim that it's foolish with no reasoning.
    • Hopefully it's one of those circumstances where he's so good that he forces his way state-side and into playing time.  I can't wait until they're playing games again.
