Motivation for apparent frugality?

Recommended Posts

The Orioles have spent a little under $8.8 million in signing bonuses for their 2009 draft class - believed to be the second-highest total in club history.

Certainly not parsimonious. And I like how it was spread around the different classes.

How's this criticism working for you JT?

Well they decided to pony up the $ for the picks now didn't they.

Perhaps they took some of the criticism of being "cheap" to heart... ;)

If there's something strange, happening in the war room, who you gonna call?

Slot Busters!

You should realize the negative sentiment generated by your desire to throw garbage against a wall to see what sticks or ....

you could hold yourself as accountable as you try to hold the FO.

Hey how would you evaluate the Rays draft, Sly?

Just curious.

Malm and Bailey were both signed by TB, and they were better picks than Washington IMO.

Wow... we really had a great draft when you look back on it... At the time I thought there was no way we would sign some of these late round guys and I had no idea how much money we were willing to go above slot to acquire young talent. Way to go AM!
