Matusz got out of that threat. Hopefully he uses that as a springboard to have a good start. God knows he needs one.

I'm only on Gameday, but from what I "see" so far, Matusz is underwhelming. So-so velocity with the "fastball," very little velocity difference between that and the changeup, and leaving so many pitches up in the zone spell looming disaster. He was lucky Kendrick hit that last the pitch the other way to a big part of the field.

Show pulled Matt aside for a bit of a chat there.

Kind of a change from Trembley's motto of waiting a day before talking to the player about an issue. Trembley thought you needed a day to let your thoughts stew around before you should come to a decision.
