  1. The fact that Mayo has made ZERO adjustments has me concerned. He constantly pulls off the ball and looks to be trying pull every pitch over the left field fence. He has zero chance of hitting offspeed or right hand breaking balls. What are the hitting coaches working with him on? Are they working with him?
  2. I have as much chance of getting a hit off Snell as Mayo does.
  3. The Orioles are terrible right now, but Snell is dealing. At least if you are going to get dominated, get dominated by a guy with TOR stuff and command.
  4. Nobody likes the announcers when the Orioles are sucking.
  5. As an Orioles appreciator, I'm not mesmerized KB.
  6. Suarez certainly can't be trusted, but he has put together some very nice starts too, so who knows. Kremer is probably ahead of him at this point.
  7. That made me lol for real, and you're right.
  8. Oh well, off to do other stuff. This game is over.
  9. I'm sorry, the Orioles have to question they're hitting development when both Holliday and Mayo are absolute ZEROS at the major league level. I've never seen two better prospects absolutely crap their pants in their first taste of the majors. I mean, like they are worse than pitchers hitting bad.
  10. The Orioles offense is dominated by average pitchers. They have zero chance against Snell when he's on his game. ZERO.
  11. Are you in a time warp or do you just assume Jimenez will get out?
  12. Let's ask the real questions. Will the Orioles get a hit before the 5th?
  13. Why would you go on a cloudy, spitting rain night to watch this team? I barely want to watch them and I'm sitting at home.
  14. At least this team is consistent. Consistently bad. But consistent.
  15. Weird to see how other teams take pitches, walk, then have a productive out to get a run home then get a hit with two outs.
  16. Yaz still sticking it to Elias for giving him up for nothing without giving him a chance.
  17. Well they're 6-9 combined this September, so they have losing in common of late.
  18. Here's how I look at this: Cowser: .677 for a rookie in a first full year in the major leagues is not great, but acceptable especially since it comes with good outfield defense. Rutschman: I'm still just hoping he's not 100% right because his sudden lack of productivity is a head scrather if not. O'Hearn: Elias gambled and lost that O'Hearn would not turn into a 2nd half pumpkin like he did in his first season. O'Hearn turned into a pumpkin when the team needed him most. Jimenez: Is totally a product of the failure of draft college bats philosophy after the 1st round. Sure, he would not be playing if injuries did not occur, but the Orioles should have had a better laternative. Oh yeah, they did in Norby but traded him away for Cole Irvin the 2nd. Holliday: Probably one of the biggest disappointments. Clearly he does not belong in the major leagues right now, but is here because of injuries. As for the pitching, the impact of Suarez stepping up this year out of nowhere can't be minimalized. Elias made a good trade to get Eflin and besides missing a few starts and one bad start, he's been pretty darn good. I don't feel terrible about the rotation of Eflin, Burnes, Kremer/Suarez/Rodriguez being a 3 or 4 inning opener going into the playoffs. I'm less enthused about the pen.
  19. Irvin was ok depth, but he regressed this year in just about every way. He seemed disinterested pitching in junk ball time which is the role he earned with his inconsistent pitching. He can only go through a lineup maybe twice, and it was clear Hyde just didn't trust him. Would I have minded if he made it through for depth? Not really. But it's clear he's similar to Trevor Rogers and the Orioles have made their bed with Rogers being here next year. Irvin is not the difference in the Orioles winning or losing in the playoffs and he probably would have been non-tendered this offseason since he has no more options.
  20. Too young and too inexperienced to send. Partially due to Visa issues, it's rare for them to send international players.
  21. The Orioles like to try and give this award to someone considered a prospect so McDermott and Povich can't be ruled out despite their partial seasons there. Brandon Young should definitely be in the running though.
  22. Here's something else to consider. Do the Orioles have a lot of players who have a tendency to hit the ball to the same parts of the field? Seems to me that the other team's advanced scouts do a good job of positioning their fielders against the Orioles more often than not. Now maybe it's just bad luck. Or maybe, teams have figured out how to pitch and defend against the Orioles hitters? I'm not saying they do or not, but I do know this team has been absolutely pathetic hitting with RISP late;ly and having productive at bats. Seems the Orioles hitting philosophy is hit the ball as hard as possible at all times and let "luck" decide the results.
