  1. Great to see the rotation taking a dump all at the same time.
  2. Unfortunately, I'm counting on nothing from either one of these guys.
  3. I don't think there is a game scheduled for tonight?
  4. I made a note in his 2023 thread...is it time to move him to the bullpen?

    Drew Rom 2023

Is it time to start looking to convert this guy to the bullpen?
  6. Holy cow! I clicked on your link and thought "Why is there a picture of Kyle Hamilton here?"!
  7. The draft is a crap shoot anyway. I kind of like the idea of drafting high-end high school guys mixed in with college senior signings. It's obvious that they know the specific types of players they want, so just stick to the formula. Keep filling the lower ends of the farm system. The one thing I would not mind seeing, however, is a focus on bullpen arms with those college seniors. I'd like to see them go after a couple of guys that could quickly rise and be the 6th/7th inning types.
  8. Sounds like the toolsy type of player that Elias will go after. Keep the pipeline coming...
  9. I'd be down with this. That would be a very good fielding defense. I just don't see them taking Frazier out of the lineup versus righties (yet).
  10. This wouldn't make any sense since he raked RHP at a better rate than LHP. I can see Frazier back in the lineup with Westburg playing 3B or SS with Gunnar handling the other position.
  11. No way do I see this happening. Too much money...too much to give up. You figure if the Mets eat some of his salary, it will cost far more in players.
  12. In my eyes, the best scenario would be an infield of Henderson/Ortiz/Westburg at 3B/SS/2B. Figure out some way to deal one of Mateo/Urias/Frazier, then use the other two as subs. Mateo can get some starts at SS against tough LHP if you want to get Gunnar a day off, and put Westburg at 3B and Ortiz at 2B. Frazier can be regulated to spot starting/PH. I think, ideally, you look to move Urias somewhere.
  13. I think I'd be more inclined to go after JUST Hader at this point, realizing that it may cost a premium. Having a bullpen with Hader/Bautista/Cano/Coulombe would be tough to beat, if they continue to produce as they are. Cano/Coulombe are still wildcards to me.
  14. I like Urias' versatility, but I think Westburg can be that type of guy with a little more pop/consistency. Not sure that Urias has lots of trade value, but he'd definitely be a guy that could be moved.
  15. It seems crazy to me that there are only 291 guys with 2,000 hits. Just goes to show how tough this game is!
  16. Irvin needs to stay away from throwing a lot of changeups.
  17. This would make too much sense. You put your best team on the field every day and have guys on the bench that you're not afraid to use.
  18. ...sitting on the bench yet again. I'd rather he just tear it up in Norfolk.
  19. Still bugs me about both Stowers and Ortiz. Never given a shot.
  20. Don't want Chapman, but I totally agree with this. It's truly a shame that Ortiz has not received more PT. If they were going to let him languish on the bench, they should have just left him in Norfolk.
  21. NOW! Put Westburg at 2nd, Ortiz at SS and Cowser in the OF. Santander can DH and play occasionally at 1B. Hicks becomes the 4th outfielder, playing all 3 positions.
  22. Disappointing. I bet the dropoff in fielding would be minimal with Ortiz.

Yeah. I think that was a chance worth taking, but it hasn't turned out great, that's for sure. I would hope that the bar would be a little higher if a top 7 or 8 prospect is included.

I would hope that if players in the upper tier of the minors are moved, Elias will be acquiring a talent(s) that will be around for more than this season.
