  1. I'm guessing the thinking is "BPA" at this spot in a not-so-great draft. Maybe they see enough in him that they can make some adjustments in his swing. I agree with your assessment, though. I think this is one they "roll the dice" on and see what they get.
  2. Blame it on Adley. He's the one calling the pitches.
  3. Going by the rectangle, it was a strike. Although I doubt it would have been if it were Soto or Judge hitting.
  4. I would LOVE us to take 2 of 3, but I'll take 1 at this point. I know it's temporary, but this team seems pathetic in all three phases of the game right now.
  5. Robert would be a guy I'd love to have if he was more reliable.
  6. I'm ready for Cowser to be the every day CF. Despite his lack of hitting (yes, I know the peripherals show he's been "unlucky"), he needs to be out there every day. I love Ced and what he's done here, but I think he's done.
  7. Totally agree with Tony's take on the pitching development. It would be nice to see some more "fruit" from the pitching side of player development. Guys like Povich and McDermott get a "meh" thus far. They obviously did well with Bradish before he developed arm problems. Cano was dominant for half of a season. I know there are some other younger guys that are on the radar, but likely will be longer-term additions. I don't see anyone on the horizon who could provide some type of impact on the bullpen OR rotation.
  8. I would not be unhappy if Tate did not come back up again.
  9. Agree with this. I'd like them to give CF to Cowser. Let him hit 8th/9th until he starts to come around.
  10. If there is "loyalty" to a guy that you could trade to make your team better, then Elias isn't the guy you want running the ship. I think loyalty is a good thing to a certain extent, but if you can turn Mateo+ into a useful bullpen arm, I think you have to do it.
  11. And the fact that he mentions trading Mountcastle would be bad is laughable. I like Mountcastle, but he does have long, horrible stretches of not hitting.
  12. Great to hear the Proctor/Lowenstein tandem! Thanks for posting!
  13. And...an arm or 2 for the bullpen.
  14. Wishing you well, Chuck! Praying for a quick recovery for you!
  15. Fixed that for you...
  16. This is exactly how I feel.
  17. His velocity on the fastball dropped by a few mph from last inning.
  18. I know that "bad games" happen. But, how in the world do you give up 19 runs to THIS offense?
  19. I don't think he's going to be a star, but I think he will be a good player. I wouldn't trade him now because I like his ability to play CF. I would, however, not object to trading him in the right deal. I don't think Crochet is that deal.
  20. "Last trip to Oakland" sounds like a country song title.
  21. Hallelujah! And I was an advocate of him being in the rotation.
  22. Except for some of his way off target throws, he's a pretty good outfielder.
  23. That's about 5 more percent than I have.
  24. It's obvious that Voth pitched around Mateo to get to Gunnar and Adley.
