1. LOL I scared someone. It’s up now. Feel free to delete post. Still strange though
2. I am blocked from site with note that ‘this connection is not private. This website may be impersonating “masnsports.com” to steal your personal or financial information. You should go back to the previous page’. there is a longer explanation if you look for details about expired certificate. very strange. Was fine this AM
3. Each pitcher must face 3 batters
4. We all know the Orioles will be sold eventually (please sooner than later!). Someone posted a quasi/semi-insider note that discussions are going on with a bunch of local investors. Who do you think would consider buying the team? if it's a bunch of local people, is there anyone with deep pockets and willingness to spend, even if not in the PAdres/Yankees/Dodgers level? Kevin Plank has been mentioned in the past but with I believe suggestions that he would not be interested. Otherwise I don't believe we will compete even after a sale if sold locally. Mark Cuban has been thrown out there, with no evidence of interest. So, i would appreciate thoughts from all of you, who have much more knowledge than this 79 y.o., who would like to see at least one more big run in the post-season.
5. I almost never post, but I wanted to take a minute to thank you, and all others who go above and beyond for the rest of us. I subscribe to the Athletic but this site is my first each morning. Barry
6. As you can tell I almost never post and this not the right forum, but I wanted to say two things: 1. I am 77 and I’ve been OHer for 20 years. To echo everyone, OH and the world was a better place for having had Weams. 2. on a more mundane O’s note- perhaps I’ve missed any discussion about it, but the one thing that really bothers me about Hyde is the way we ALWAYS seem to use a pitcher an inning from the bullpen. With our bullpen being what it is, it seems a recipe for disaster. thanks for reading and thanks for everyone’s comment throughout the years. Barry
7. 19 at home with only 9 away but...... 6-13 at home and 8-1 away. what a crazy. Year! Barry
8. Well I almost never write but have been a member almost forever (2003). I'm now 76 and am a little more worried whether I will see another World Series in my lifetime LOL. However, in my opinion you need to do a couple of things: 1. Raise the rates somewhat- $2 a month is too low for what we get. 2. Remove the limited membership and not allow them to post, just to read. 3. I would consider a contribution to keep it going. Barry-Doctor BJ
9. How important is the overslot payment? How often does a player choose to go college if HS or sit out a year if college graduate/or return to school if underclassman based on money offered? How much really does a few hundred thousand make a difference<grin>? I can see where it might entice a young man thinking about not going to college if HS, but life's a cr-pshoot, especially with pitchers a Tommy John surgeries being so common now. I know that I'm making it sound like nobody cares about money, but in fact the player has to wait a year if he doesn't. It's not like he gets to get to another team and sign. I can see where it matters in the international market for really poor individuals. Hopefully this question makes sense.
10. Not that I have any input to Davis’s contract, but is he not getting ~17 million per year and the rest deferred until yearly after the contract runs out? Therefore we are on the hook for that amount yearly through the end of the contract. The rest is future like Bonilla’s was. So when we cut ties we are looking at 51-68 million not 69-92 million. The deferred payments should not even be part of the discussion re current sunk money i understand this is huge amount to give up on but not as huge as we talk about all time.
11.

i just wanted to jump in and say i REALLY appreciate all you do on the board. I don't post much but have been on for years and am a 72 y.o. fan with homes in Baltimore and Boynton Beach FL. The board is great but you make it even better. (Too often people complain in the world, like in restaurants, but never stop to offer praise.) Well done sir
