  2. Portes gets Temarr Johnson to hit into a bases-loaded DP, March 19, at Twin Lakes:
  3. Does anyone have the minor league exhibition game schedule at Twin Lakes this year?
  4. I also listened to Chuck and Bill from out of state, but they were from a prior generation of announcer, giving a more rose-colored view, and without criticism of anyone. Personally, I preferred the era of Miller and Angel, with some irreverence but still insightful and entertaining
  5. Short excerpt from the greatest age of Orioles radio: Jon Miller (later joined by Joe Angel). Sounds like Tom Marr at 8:04. I well recall the former minor league reporter for this site, John Hoffman, blaming Angelos for Jon Miller leaving after 1996 and the impact it had on his drives to and from minor league games by having to listen to the post-1996 crew. That crew was the oily Jim Hunter and the bumbling, but amiable, Fred Manfra.
  6. A guy e-mails to complain about repetitive questions posed to Mike Hargrove, Winter 2003, WBAL. Steve agrees.
  7. Found this 1985 recording. Tremendous Keith Jackson and other Roy Firestone impressions. Almost tragic listening to Jon Miller describe the action and the classic players, particularly given the broadcasting dreck fans were given during the Jim Hunter years(except for Joe Angel.)
  8. What a bullpen. Other than Sulser, the rest of the guys take the mound with a can of gasoline.
  9. A beautiful day for baseball. Get lineups from MLB.com.
  10. Depending on how big the lead is in the 8th or 9th(hypothetically) and where they are in the batting order at the time, McKenna could be put in the OF and the DH given up. Particularly if you're using relief pitchers for one inning only.
