  1. Getting Bautista back should be like a major FA signing.
  2. Pretty sure you need 4 starters in the playoffs. At least for a 7-game series, unless you're going to throw them on 3 days rest. You also need someone to provide length in the pen if the starters falter or Hyde has a quick hook. Here are my guesses in order of confidence Starters: Burnes, Efflin, GRod (if healthy), Suarez Long man: Kremer (though you could swap him with Suarez) Bullpen: Dominguez, Cano, Coulombe (if healthy), Webb (if healthy), Perez, Kimbrel, Smith and one of Soto/Akin/Povich I hate that GRod, Coulombe and Webb are question marks.
  3. Is he a better option than Baker right now, or would that just be a sort of lateral move?
  4. I can't imagine Rogers will even be on the playoff roster
  5. I've had enough of the Messin with Sasquatch commercials
  6. My brother in SF has a band called Deadend Boyfriend.
  7. I think I would rather have given Jack Flaherty another chance
  8. That sounds like a great band name
  9. Rogers is Irvin but a few mph slower
  10. Rogers ain't a nugget. And I hope that going into 2025, Elias doesn't consider him anything more than an emergency starter
  11. I honestly don't remember, perhaps someone else can dig into the vault to verify?
  12. It was brutal. They had been as much as 10 GB of the Red Sox, went on a 13-6 stretch while BOS struggled. In the game that started the collapse they were up 11-6 at home against the Rangers, and Rich Bordi gave up 6 runs in the 8th and eventually lost 13-11. The following day they blew an 8-4 lead, losing 9-8. They were a completely different team
  13. Under the Angelos regime, I would have expected the O's to keep O'Hearn and Kjerstad, and Santander to sign elsewhere. I'm hopeful things are different with Rubenstein, but we shall see.
  14. I know we have a strong roster, but 1986 still makes me fear any collapse. The O's were rolling, getting as close as 2.5 GB of the Red Sox at 59-47. They promptly lost 5 in a row and went 14-42 the rest of the way, and finished in last place.
  15. Would a Kjerstad trade and a Santander signing be related?
  16. What do you think is more likely? That the O's hold on to Kjerstad, or they pay market value to extend Santander?
  17. @Tony-OH thanks for your detailed info. I'm not so knowledgeable about drafts and ceilings and floors. But I'm savvy enough to know that the minor league cupboard is filled with pitchers who seem more likely to be "miss" than "hit". I believed that before the deadline, and I believe it more strongly now. There is not a single pitcher in our system that makes me think "I can't wait to get him on the big league roster". I know it's probably not a reasonable plan, but I'd like to see Elias & Co draft nothing but pitchers, and sign nothing but international pitchers, for the next 12 months.
  18. This is what happens when all of the real prospects head to the O's, and the cupboard is more bare.
  19. When Webb AND Coulombe come back, Kimbrell is probably obsolete no?
  20. I was being conversational There really isn't a great alternative other than waiting for Webb and Coulombe to get healthy. Tate?
