  1. When Holliday got his hit yesterday, his BA went from .000 to .142, according to the scoreboard. Should have been .071. Two for one special is still available!
  2. Probably the same intern who operates the bug for MASN.
  3. Let him off the hook! glad the Ripken family is cool with #7.
  4. During the Opening Day pregame ceremonies yesterday, the O's played an edited version of JFK's "New Frontier" speech, which he gave at the DNC in 1960. My historian wife and I both found it a bit odd, and perhaps out of place. Did anyone else feel it was a bit bizarre? Thanks,
  5. Clancy, the NEXT Orioles owner!
  6. I give you props for being able to listen to that guy long enough to hear what he had to say. His whole shtick is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me.
  7. Where the heck is the current 26-man roster?
  8. Steve Poltz for the win. He's a nut! Expectations are just future resentments under construction.
  9. I already feel so much better about spending money at Camden Yards! I packed a lot of lunches last year to keep money from floating up to JA. I might have three beers tomorrow!
  10. We were told by Comcast/Xfinity that in order to watch MASN in Baltimore City, we would have to move up to the highest tier, and that, along with our 800MB internet service, would now cost $259.00 per month, which is $79 more than we were paying. I had read in the Banner that it was going to be a $20 increase, so I was floored. We dropped Xfinity TV, but kept the internet, which the guy on the phone gave us a promotional rate of $45/month. We then added DirecTV streaming, which has MASN & MLB Network, and a ton of other channels we won't watch for $120/month. So, now we are at $165/month for the 2024 season ($15 less than last year) and way less than what Xfinity quoted us. And, it's legal and guilt free!
  11. Rutschman was injured during spring training and had to work his way back into shape.
  12. May his good deeds for the people of Baltimore be remembered forever.
  13. Holliday isn't on the 40-man roster. For him to make the team, his contract must be selected, and someone else has to be removed (or placed on the 60-day IL.)
  14. The NFL has a very successful model for this scenario.
  15. Eli Jacobs was the owner when the team moved to Camden Yards. He's the reason for "Oriole Park" at Camden Yards...
  16. Not sure if it was intentional that the O's chose a game against the Rangers for the Pride promotion, but I read last year that Texas was the only MLB team that did not have a LGBT Pride celebration. Well played, Marketing Team!
  17. 13 coaches for 26 players. Wasn't that long ago when there were six. Crazy days, indeed.
  18. Yes. Especially if he dons jersey #0. MARCUS STR "O" MAN! He was born to pitch in Baltimore!
  19. I found the OH in 1998. That was when I first bought a computer to use in my home! My neighborhood was a test market for this new thing called "broadband internet." so I thought, what the heck, let's give it a try.
  20. I'll second Stowers, for no other reason that I had a beer with his dad at the bar last April.
  21. You and Drungo are posters 1 & 1a for me. I've been a dues-paying lurker for 19 years or so, and really look forward to the topics you start. I don't post much due to the fact that I have no natural insight for player evaluation, but I sure do appreciate all the work that Tony and the gang put into keeping this place going. Cheers!
  22. Is there a "Post of the Year" award?
  23. I'll be sure to miss the ceremonial first pitch, I can promise you.
  24. Which is exactly what I was rooting for on October 3rd!
  25. At least I have someone to blame for my disappointment! Thx, Moose.
