  1. Could be for Rogers as well, with Suárez being pushed back a day.
  2. I would be surprised if he didn't play winter ball. I am a little surprised he didn't do so last year. He was a Dominican Winter League first round pick last year.
  3. Bowie's season ends on 9/15, so it would be a week at Norfolk if he got promoted.
  4. As an added bonus, Luis Gil took the loss, going 4 innings allowing 4 runs. Can only help Cowser's ROY prospects.
  5. AAA season runs a week longer, so hopefully he ends up in Norfolk after the Baysox season ends if he doesn't get there before.
  6. Yep, last week it was probably a tossup between Cowser and Santander. From 7/26-31 .400/.406/.600 vs. .296/.406/.667. I'm in.
  7. This week? Probably Holliday. A week ago? Maybe Santander. Over the course of the season? Clearly Gunnar. .248/.311/.540 isn't in the same ballpark as .287/.375/.557.
  8. Minor league deal. No complaints. Sure he has an opt out the last week of August in case any other contenders are interested. Mayo is on notice.
  9. Nah, he was making the minimum and was clearly going to get claimed by a non-contender as a former top prospect. Would have liked to see what the O's could have done with him over the offseason and spring training. I can't imagine the Marlins of all teams will be the team to fix him.
  10. Easier to just allude to him as "a multi MVP HOF player" that Elias foolishly passed on to draft a catcher.
  11. Players accrue service time when they are on the injured list, but it doesn't count toward their rookie of the year eligibility. It is 50 innings or 130 at-bats, or 45 days on the active roster (used to be the pre-September 1st roster, but that changed with the newest CBA).
  12. Not sure why that would matter. He has spent over 45 total days on the roster this season anyway, so he doesn't have rookie eligibility whether he reaches 130 at-bats or not.
  13. Yup, Akin has been fine but Smith has been better. Expect Akin to be back at some point this season.
  14. Don't really understand the Slater thing, I think Pache has more upside in long term, and neither will do much for the next two months. Hope Kjerstad is back before September 1st, still fully expect him to be on the playoff roster as a lefty pinch hitter and a potential starter against right handers at DH or in LF away from Camden Yards.
  15. Except with injury issues rather than off field issues.
  16. Happy to see the Orioles go into their 5 percent overage for the first time in club history. Last year, two-thirds of teams did so.
  17. No. He was here in case McCann needed an IL stint, but he didn't need one. He was still here when we had a roster opening with the Norby trade, so he got a day on the roster. I'm sure it was an exciting day for him, but he will be off the roster tomorrow.
  18. You seem to have lost control of your narrative. The COVID fake year was 2020. The year he was good.
  19. Yep. Him or Bradfield, and I would rather not waste the 40-man roster spot in the off season on Bradfield. Curious whether Mateo or Urias are tendered contracts this offseason.
  20. His season isn't necessarily done. There are more than 60 days left in the season, and it is backdated anyway.
