  1. As the season went on, it was fun to go back and re read. So many times people predicted we were at the ultimate high mark and were wrong. A grest reminder of just how well they broke all expectations.
  2. At 34 I can't imagine he has any options. So any AAA talk would be exposing him to waivers. I feel like whether as a long man, bullpen, spot starter, that losing him for nothing isn't high on the teams to do list. Hopefully he can be a solid addition to the MLB roster, no matter the role they give him.
  3. Seems like a Frazier like deal that didn't cost 8 million and make anyone feel obligated to play him. If we need to fill this "hole" this is the way to do it.
  4. This was my first thought. New options for fried Oreos at the park!
  5. There seemed to be some bad feelings/ vibes with the Brewers and the arbitration process. I think he was basically done with them. He may still want to test free agency, but wouldn't be surprised if his extension went from 0% to even 5% with a fresh start. Like you say, not expecting based on a lot of stuff out there, but wonder if he considers just a little bit more.
  6. Santander would be an interesting case. His health has been better in recent years, but there has been enough to keep him off the field that I could see the longer deal being more appealing.
  7. I thought it was always a "top half" starter. It leaves 1-3 a possibilities, but I took it more as a 2-3 based on history.
  8. I was going to ask if we spent our allotment. Good to see their focus internationally continues.
  9. A relatively unknown 17 yo from the international program vs US drafted players are likely different. I'd expect the drafted players to be lower, but international I could see being a very mixed bag.
  10. Did you just copy and paste the example? Haha.
  11. For comparison, where does Gibson fall from an ERA+ perspective?
  12. "REFUND POLICY FOR UNPLAYED GAMES In the event that the series for which this ticket is issued concludes before the date on which the Game was scheduled to occur (“Unplayed Game”): (i) if this ticket is not a season ticket, a refund will automatically be posted to the payment card used for payment of the ticket; no credits will be issued and the ticket will have no cash value and (ii) if this ticket is a season ticket, the value of all Unplayed Games will be automatically credited toward the 2023 Season Plan Member of record for any Unplayed Games; tickets should not be returned and have no cash value." This is all I see on their policy page, doesn't show timing there. edit: https://www.mlb.com/orioles/tickets/postseason/ticket-terms
  13. No Bautista all year will be the biggest change. Curious how they work through that piece
  14. And could play them in the ALCS potentially which means not playing them yet. It's a real possibility.
  15. I know a few folks that went Thursday hoping to clinch, and had long tired Thursdays at work. I'd imagine having clinched, the week day game was lower since the game meant far less. Also not surprised with the weekend uptick.
  16. You mean you expect a loss tomorrow from Bjs? Because I believe they still have a magic number of 1.
  17. Not unexpected, hopefully more awards to come for him.
  18. Ultimately, the O's weren't intentionally tanking for good chucks of the 2000s on and still did poorly. Someone is going to lose. It's just been more teams in the truly terrible range that makes it harder to watch. As a result, the MLB/PU at a minimum need to evaluate change to avoid. MLB should evaluate anything that makes the games more fun to watch. Teams should evaluate the best way to develop and establish winning teams. In a sport that has countless stories around gaining advantages (and/or cheating), it's not a surprise. The push and pull of what is right, will continue to evolve. I think most fans don't really enjoy the process (even though I still watched a lot of baseball during the tank). Knowing in the past (again most of the 2000s) how often the O's had no plan, spent more money and still stunk, I was behind the process. It's working out now and I'm glad I did. I also get why a lot of people would be annoyed/pissed at how unwatchable the team was at times. What they really owe us is a plan that leads to at least cycles of success. There were times this board would talk about if we would EVER be .500 again, and the arguments against felt pretty realistic. At least for me, having the plan was enough in the bad years, that I didn't feel I was owed a competitive team in an individual year. That is a mind set from a fan that has seen a LOT of losing, so I won't argue a bit of battered fan syndrome.
  19. Our biggest questions at the beginning of the season was pitching. Bradish was a big reason for the jump, Bautista was a big reason when healthy too. I see good arguments for Gunnar/Adley and assume Gunnar gets the nod. For me one of Bradish/Bautista helped the team make the jump this year and went with Bradish since he was listed.
  20. And after losing a game buffer (1.5), we got it back to 2.5, which mentally should help the team as well.
  21. My CBS app says fox. Not home yet to check.
  22. I did 1 of my games as a 3, which opened up one set in section 84. I feel like aiming for 4 really limited sections. To upper levels.
  23. The email said parking was limited. I assumed it was sold out, as I also didn't see it offered.
