  1. The Swampers were the studio band at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL. They are the band behind numerous huge hits and at one point spent a summer touring as the band for someone big (can't remember who).
  2. Holy Crap, he's had one full year in MLB. In Mauer's first full year he had an OPS of .783. Adley was .809 after a debut of .806.
  3. Just for fun, I went back to the Bedard trade. Bedard had 4 full seasons before we traded him (at least 24 starts) with an average ERA+ of 118 (it's not weighted properly but trying to make simple). Cease in his 3 full seasons for WS has an average ERA+ of 129. Bedard was a year older at the time of trade, but also had either one or two more years of control left. It's an interesting comparison.
  4. I'd say 3B because it's really the only position that we don't have a clear answer for. We have people that can play there, but they are perceived bench players, prospects, or Gunnar. I still think best option is Gunnar at 3B, Ortiz at SS until Holiday is up. Westburg at 2B.
  5. A league average pitcher with domestic abuse, alcohol abuse, and sticky stuff baggage. Perfect!
  6. I don't disagree, also I left off Holliday LOL
  7. Gunnar, Grayson, Hall, Westburg. Not sure who 5 and 6 are.
  8. Wow, I had no idea he lived in Spring Hill, TN. I live there.
  9. My guess is Villar's agent wanted to test the waters on the full arb figure, and Elias was comfortable doing it. I bet we hear about a 2 or 3 year agreement soon.
  10. I have read through this entire thread, so maybe I'm missing something here. Isn't it possible that Elias told Villar's agent that they want to keep him, but it doesn't make sense at the projected arbitration figure? Villar's agent asked for waivers based on trying to find out if someone would bite and get the full amount vs. whatever the O's are offering in a new deal?
  11. Being an O's and baseball fan that has lived in Nashville for 17 years, I believe Nashville is primed to get a team either by relocation (Tampa, Oakland) or expansion, which is expected once the issues with the two teams I mentioned are resolved. Las Vegas is obviously a possibility, but from the extensive reading I've done on the subject, Portland seems to be the overwhelming favorite, followed by Vegas, Nashville, and San Antonio. I think a 3rd team in Texas is unlikely. Nashville opened a new AAA stadium downtown a few years back, and I believe they built it with the ability to expand down the road. The only issue is it would be only 3 hours from Suntrust in Atlanta.
