With Elias and Rubenstein across the negotiating table Boras will know he is up against experts in talent evaluation and financial risk evaluation respectively. I introduced myself to Roch at Sarasota back in 2011 after he came off an on field post game presser with Buck. Since non-Orioles have already been brought into the thread, I distinctly remember sportswriters and announcers complimenting Baltimore native Al Kaline when I was a lad. I see that Brooks thought highly of him as well. From Kaline’s HOF biography is a quote from Brooks…. “There have been a lot of great defensive players. The fella who could do everything is Al Kaline. He was just the epitome of what a great outfielder is all about - great speed, catches the ball and throws the ball well.”

At this point I would trade Cowser because if you traded Urias for a middle reliever, I’m confident Westburg could fill Urias’ role. That also allows you to start Ortiz everyday at your position of choice to see what he brings.
