  1. Send out Cole Irvin to outpitch him?
  2. That's on Baumann, but you gotta think some other RF might have been quicker to the ball.
  3. Why yes, it's amazing! Cole "Freakin" Irvin going toe-to-toe with the unstoppable, future first ballot Hall-of-Famer Baily Ober. And not a weak spot anywhere in the Minnesota lineup unlike the pathetic Orioles.
  4. Urias is definitely going through a rough patch at the plate right now but as of last night's game his 2023 wRC+ is 101 or league average, Mateo's is 66. They're both frustrating at the moment, but not even remotely similar otherwise.
  5. But Mayo has plenty of arm for RF and then some. 70 FV according to the folks at Fangraphs. So the question is, of the two, who would be the better long-term fit where. I don't claim to have the answer, but I would definitely be giving Kjerstad some reps at 1B just as soon as Mountcastle moves on. Both positions could be available as soon as next year.
  6. If Means pitches at all at the ML level, it won't be much and will make little impact. And I'd rather that be the case if it means a fully healthy 2024.
  7. Sucks we lost the shutout, but a very, very satisfying game to watch otherwise.
  8. Time for Bradish to take a seat. Great outing!
  9. Bradish just needed to be reminded that he had a 13 run lead so a mistake or two over the plate wasn't a big deal.
  10. Palmer just asked the same question only with Donaldson. LOL
  11. I love thinking about all the Yankee fans who spent hundreds per ticket to watch this this close up.
  12. Gunnar was on that pitch the whole way. Made it look easy.
  13. O'Hearn flat looks like a ballplayer doesn't he?
  14. Severino at 56 pitches after two. I remember how frustrating it was watching the Yankees do this time after time to the O's in years past. I love how patient our young hitters are.
  15. Given Elias and Company's demonstrated bias against prospect pitchers, Cowser and Kjerstad would undoubtedly be a non-starter especially if the trade was even close to even-up That being said, I wouldn't mind having either of those pitchers to go along with Rodriguez.
  16. I think it's useful to periodically remind people that Mountcastle's OPS was 50 points higher against RHP than LHP in 2022. We all recognize that something is wrong with him right now, but it's premature to assume it's permanent and his future is the weak half of a platoon. Right we don't even know what's causing the vertigo.
  17. Very bright. And then there's Coby Mayo since June 1 in AA: .359/.479/.752/.1.231. I know he has a thread of his own going at the moment, but a 1.231 OPS sustained over 5+ weeks is every bit as exciting IMO.
