  1. Scoreless first on 10 pitches for the offense huh?
  2. Came into the LAD series KNOWING that we would have to be extremely fortunate to get 1/3. And I'm still furious that we were extremely fortunate to get 1/3. All three games were very winnable, we're just playing bad baseball in pretty much all aspects and have been for a while. Our only hope is getting healthy and getting hot in Oct.
  3. This has been the O’s since mid June unfortunately. A lot of people just refuse to recognize it. We also have about 3-4 automatic outs in our lineup every single day, and lately that’s been more like 5-6
  4. We’re third in runs per game! I saw it here!
  5. This has been a really bad team for a long time.
  6. No hits through 3! We HAVE to have the MLB record for number of times we've done this in a season.
  7. We only score on 1-3 swings a night. And its either a homerun or as a result of the other team messing up. Not even worried about Povich, it has been the offense for so long. But season "runs per game"
  8. Hate being so negative about this team, but they are so so so hard to watch. Not enjoyable at all.
  9. Anyone have any confidence in the o’s winning this one tonight?
  10. We havent swept a team since Tampa in early June. So its been almost 3 months. I would define that as "hard" for our current team. We havent looked good, even in wins, in a long time. I hope we can go 7-2, but I sure am not expecting it.

  12. Will we score on more than 1-2 swings tonight?
  13. Offense remains trash.
  14. Reverse jinx worked for the hit. But not the run.
  15. Are we just going to get 1 hit into the 5th or 6th every game now?
  16. they also need to be smart with how they load these guys and a lot goes into it- time of the year, how much they play, travel, preferences of the player etc. There is no one size fits all for each guy. Some guys have a lot of success training hard in season (Matt Holliday), other guys have success doing the opposite- But all of them are doing some form of training throughout the entire season.
  17. Yes- that was my point of my previous post. These guys train in season and they train heavy in season. The volume (number of total reps) is generally where the program will decrease in intensity. Its not going to look like your offseason training from a total volume standpoint, but the intensity from how heavy is generally a lot closer or just a little bit adjusted. The other point of my post is that none of these changes happen in 10 days, so using one IL stint for a big leaguer will hardly accomplish that. The article about Holliday making his gains in season are over a much longer period of time and also when he was playing half games in the minor leagues.
  18. These guys train in season. As you mentioned it’s a long season, and these sessions are probably microdosed throughout the week/travel, but they are still training consistently. It makes no scientific sense whatsoever to think that a 10 day injured list binge of heavy lifting will somehow make him stronger. The majority of their every day training is done during the offseason, and that should carry throughout the season unless they just completely shut down any strength training and nutrition awareness- which they don’t.
  19. Why is Witt any more proven than Gunnar? Just because his 2024 is better? Gunnar is still on pace for an elite season all time for any SS and he is 23 years old. Dont forget Gunnar was on pace for the highest WAR season ever by a SS into June. Witt has been on an unbelievable heater and has established himself for sure, but Gunnar is certainly in that conversation as 1a/1b for best young shortstop in the game. To that point, Gunnar has accumulated more career WAR than Witt and is a year younger, and has played less. Gunnar and Witt are both generational.
  20. I didn't expect him to be a 5 win player, but I did expect 20+ homers. That said, I agree with everything you said- we know who Mounty is.
  21. I don’t think you understand how the weight room works.
  22. I could not understand not wanting to extend Gunnar.
  23. Inject that season runs per game stat into my veins! All jokes (and stats) aside, the offense has been a problem for longer than this cold stretch just in its inconsistency. I think we will be fine when we get Westburg back and have a healthy Mounty/OHearn true platoon. Doesn't look like Mateo (of Kjerstad) will be back this year which hurts a lot vs lefties. Its hard to feel like we have a chance when the lineup card has Slater, Jimenez, Rivera, McCann (sometimes), Urias (I know hes been our best hitter lately) , and several lefties who struggle vs LHP. Would LOVE to knock Flaherty around tonight.
  24. I wouldve signed up for 2-2 in that series after we left NY 100 times out of 100. So while we were pretty fortunate to get 2 wins, gotta look at that series as a win. As many have said already- just find a way to get into the playoffs at this point, even if its stealing wins we shouldnt, and hope we get our injured guys back. Very easily could have been a sweep, and the offense was lifeless for 85% of the series, but we got the timely hits when we needed them in game 2 and 3.
  25. Yea, could definitely be true. Amazing play no matter how you break it down and gave us the opportunity to win the game.
