  2. Samuel Basallo now ranked #100 on mlbpipeline.com Top 100 Prospect list.
  3. MLB.com just updated their Top 100 Prospect List. Link: https://www.mlb.com/prospects/top100/ Orioles Listed: Jackson Holliday #1 Colton Cowser #15 Jordan Westburg #34 Heston Kjerstad #40 Joey Ortiz #67 Connor Norby #71 Coby Mayo #80
  4. Coby Mayo was added as Prospect #100 on the mlb.com top prospect list last night. Orioles are back to 8 prospects in their top 100 list. Great to see the continued depth of the Orioles farm system.
  5. As we enter the off-season, which teams do you feel are potential trade partners to bolster the mlb roster and/or the upper minors (likely with pitching prospects)? I know we have all talked about the match up with the Marlins. Are there other teams you like? For me it would be : Cleveland - Bibee, Logan Allen, Justin Campbell and Cody Morris Minnesota - Prielipp, Woods-Richardson, Raya, Canterino LA Dodgers - Pepiot and Stone NY Mets - Hamel, Tidwell, Ziegler, Matt Allan, Mike Vasil
  6. Just noticed on the Marlins 40-man roster, that the Marlins have 8 players on the 60-Day IL that they will have to bring back or designate for assignment before the winter meetings. I do think some minor trades (if worthy) may be options or the Marlins risk losing players for nothing (Rule 5 or claimed). It will really come down to how they rank their internal options vs. other clubs. Could a prospect like LHP Josh Simpson be available?
  7. Wanted to put this out there for discussion. With the roll that Santander has been on the past week (two more HRs so far tonight), has he become a core player moving forward and worthy of a long-term extension or does Elias sell at PEAK value? I do believe the asking price has now gone up. I think it is an interesting dynamic that may have supporters on both sides depending on the cost/term (to stay) or the possible return.
  8. This is a 2022 comparable SWAG at the picks the Orioles will have in the Top 100 of the 2023 MLB Draft (subject to getting a gift of being in the Lottery Top 6). Would love to trade again for another Comp B pick. 1 - 17 2 - 55 2s - 72 Comp - 82 3 - 94
  9. For your viewing pleasure and because we all love the the arm chair GM aspect of Draft Lists. Orioles would be drafting around 16-17 as of today. Who do like on this Draft Board? (As we all know, this list will change significantly) https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/top-2023-mlb-draft-prospects/
  10. First off, thanks for posting on our board Maverick. This is just my opinions, but I do think that the going forward strategy may very well revolve around a core of Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson and Colton Cowser. Cowser is likely untouchable at this time as he moved up 3 levels this year and was absolutely raking at AA Bowie before this last promotion to AAA Norfolk. I do think our two teams match up well with trading from surplus assets. Hope we can work something out this winter which helps both clubs. I am however leery of trading for a pitcher with only two years of control (Pablo Lopez) and no experience in the AL East plus the inherent injury risk to pitchers, without a larger deal in place. I would look at something closer to Mullins plus another Orioles minor league position player like a Neustrom or Adam Hall (maybe a Connor Norby) for a package of Pablo Lopez, Dax Fulton (AA) and Jake Eder (injury risk) or Jacob Miller. Your thoughts?
  11. It has been a long time, but it is really, really nice to have options!
  12. I would have severe reservations of trading away high end Milb assets for any pitcher with only two years of control left with any hint of shoulder or forearm issues. A pitcher could be injured midway through Year 1 and never suit up for the Orioles again. And we gave away a high end controllable asset with little return. If we are following the Rays model, we will trade away MLB assets as they get expensive or before reaching free agency for new multiple Milb assets. However, I do like your idea of maybe taking a flyer on some of the Miami pitchers with injury question marks, but I may look at a package of one MLB player and a Rule 5 eligible position player for two or three Miami Pitching prospects. Another injured Miami Pitcher to follow might be Jake Eder.
  13. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/08/marlins-open-to-trading-from-rotation-surplus-again-this-offseason.html A new article on the Marlins interest in possibly trading from their pitching surplus for offensive help.
  14. My choices: #33 - Owen Murphy RHP HS - (Overslot likely) or Peyton Graham SS - Oklahoma or Jacob Melton OF Oregon St #42 - College Pitcher that may fall : Connor Prielipp (unlikely) or Gabriel Hughes or Carson Whisenhunt #67 - College Pitcher - Does Landon Sims fall this far? Trystan Vierling RHP Gonzaga or Ben Joyce RHP Tennessee #81 - Jake Madden RHP - NW Florida State JC or Jack O’Connor RHP HS The plan appears to have been to load up on collegiate position players that all have above average OPS. Find out who rises to the top and likely use some of the excess to acquire pitching prospects down the road. I hope Elias and Sig pivot to pitching this draft, but I am perfectly fine with the strategy to overstock the hitting prospects as long as we are going to spend or trade for quality pitching.
