  1. Especially when you factor in the DL Hall trade too. Suarez and Wells get bumped to the pen only if Bradish and Means are effective starters a decent part of the season. Would the O's promote Povich or McDermott to pitch relief? My guess is not anytime soon, but I dunno. A trade would for one or two arms would be best, but trading for good relief pitching is only harder now because so many teams can make the playoffs.
  2. But O'Hearn's numbers are inflated because he never bats against lefties, plus he's trash in the outfield. If Santander's hitting does not improve this season of course you don't give him a QO, but that's unlikely. He'll probably pick it up as the weather heats up. Plus Tony plays at least a decent RF and can play first base too. Like others have said, should the O's offer Santander a QO? Maybe -- it depends on how he performs and how Kjerstad and Stowers perform.
  3. Nice show from Kremer today. Hopefully he'll become more efficient and go deeper into games, but the O's really needed that performance after Grayson's meltdown yesterday.
  4. Great players but far from the only ones playing at that level. Juan Soto, Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Jose Altuve, Bobby Witt Jr, Elly De La Cruz, CJ Abrams and some others are playing at a similar elite level.
  5. You could say "take away the best and second best guy" about any bullpen. Coulombe was good last season and Cionel and Webb weren't bad. The guy we miss is DL Hall, though I'm sure the hope is that Wells, Suarez and/or Irvin will fill some of these holes.
  6. Nice job Kremer. Though I will say eventually our starters need to go a bit deeper into games.
  7. Wow I was sure he was going to walk Gunnar. Pretty dumb not to.
  8. Mike Flanagan and Scott McGregor were soft tossing lefties. Some of the really good pitchers are.
  9. Bobby Cox, Bruce Bochy and Earl Weaver are all the evidence I think most people need.
  10. He doesn't have to do it every game. Just once in awhile. Managers are too mellow these days, especially Hyde.
  11. I wish Hyde would get out there soon and yell some holy hell into these crap umps. Get thrown out of the game and show he's got his players' backs. Get in their faces and let them know they suck.
  12. Ok if Holliday starts hitting then a blowout loss will have been worth it.
  13. Angels do not have a garbage lineup -- especially with Rendon out of it. Doubt he's tipping pitches. Why would he need to be if the ball is mid 90s down the middle of the plate?
  14. Isn't his most effective pitch his changeup? Is it not fooling anyone or is he just not throwing it much tonight?
  15. When I saw him pitch in San Diego last year he was great against a scary lineup.
  16. Not surprised Grayson is having a bad game. I think he's a good pitcher who struggles with command at times and needs more experience. He'll get it together again but for now he's a guy that will have a night like this every so often.
  17. Anaheim has a train station stop, which is nice for those who live or work near the Metro or an Amtrak stop.
