  1. He has no clue where the ball is going. He’s up there throwing. Put the kid out of his misery already he isn’t learning anything.
  2. 40 stressful pitches in one inning is a recipe for an inflamed bow. I think they give him 15 next inning.
  3. Was trying to decide between watching the Os and the Tides. Bradish made that decision easy.
  4. I’ve always liked Cliff Floyd, hopefully that stands true after tonight. Never heard him call a game. Have fun with Melanie, Cliff.
  5. Looks like another nibbling Bradish tonight. Don’t see him lasting long if he doesn’t attack.
  6. I just watched Hall's performance last night. Man, he is fun to watch because his stuff is so electric. If everyone stays healthy next year is going to be a treat watching the guys in the rotation. He struck out the first 6 guys he faced, and it didn't even look like anyone had a chance of making contact with the ball, maybe a couple foul balls. With that said, he throws a ton of non-competitive pitches. Lot's of balls right out of his hand. He fell behind batters but the stuff is so good they can't hit it when they are ahead. Also, a good bit of swings outside of the strike zone. He isn't going to get away with that at the next level, batters are going to work his pitch count very high early in games if he can't get the fastball consistently in the strike zone. I imagine they want him starting games so I believe they will leave him down in AAA to continue to get starts and work on his command. Halls live arm is must see TV for baseball nerds.
  7. Prado had a couple hits tonight. Looks like he just logged his third game at Delmarva and is batting second in the line up. With Hernaiz moved up, Prado becomes most exciting guy in the lineup. Will be interesting to finally get some looks at him.
  8. It’s a very fine line. Of course at the end of the day everyone wants to win. College coaches are absolutely not thinking about the future of their players. They are thinking about how to make their program win at all cost. Their jobs depend on winning, not grooming players for the next level. look at how many innings he caught over those three years. Coming in for 30Ip of max effort pitching (per year) after catching a complete game is not gonna bode well on the bow.
  9. The game looks real slow to him down there in AA, but for reasons you mentioned I imagine you are most likely correct.
  10. OPS up over 1.000 and avg. over .300 with a 3 for 3 night so far and game is only in the 5th. With Prieto at Bowie now I have to imagine Gunnar is heading to AAA sometime soon. I don’t think there is much left for him to do at AA.
  11. Tech pitching is notoriously terrible. Hall does what he can to try to win and keep his job. College baseball is a meat market run by men who don’t prioritize the best interest of their players long term health. But, yea someone like Wieters who knows they are going round 1 might want to consider the future and push back a bit. But then again read his comments about giving his teammates his all. 19/20 y/o kids want the ball.
  12. He was hitting 95 almost regularly and I think he got it up to 96. Has he ever thrown that hard? Last night they made a comment of him hiding the ball a la Fernando Valenzuela. I have to imagine that short arm action is incredibly hard to pick up and if he pumping 95-96 that’s a challenge for hitters to handle.
  13. Dude is on a heater.
  14. I think he's slated for the bull pen. He's done his night. Only runner allowed was on a walk. No hits. Vespi came in and did his 0.00 era thing and struck out 2 in the 4th.
  15. 6 Ks through 3ip. Only allowed one baserunner. Looks really sharp.
  16. From the games I've watched it looks like he swings at a lot of bad pitches early and puts himself in the hole. He's often batting 0-1, 0-2, 1-2. Kinda looks like he makes up his mind to swing ahead of time and lets it fly resulting in some gnarly looking swing choices. But when he catches it, it's loud contact.
  17. Seriously, where was all this nonsense when Brad Brach was lights out wearing 35 for a few years?

Not to mention that if he is slated long term to be the bench guy, getting everyday ABs this year will only help him in the bench roll moving forward. Not sure what the rush is to push him off SS, we don't have any other options and we didn't sign anyone in the offseason so continuing to talk about is a waste of breath.
  19. I knew he struggled against LHP but didn't' realize the splits were that bad. It looks like he's a little behind last year against LHP but he hasn't dropped off a cliff completely, but absolutely a glaring red flag. Honestly, I had written him off when I saw that long swing a couple years ago but he keeps putting up #s that keep you interested. Those splits definitely scream platoon, though. And i think your assessment is correct, he will likely struggle against advanced pitching with that swing. BTW go Terps! Confernce Champs woot woot!
  20. Putting together a nice season so far. 8 Hr (one less than Stowers) and OPSing .817. He’s plays a solid RF. He’s definitely earned an opportunity and a pay raise, but how do you fit him in and get him ABs w/o a trade (or two). Is he attractive as a potential throw in for a trade? You gotta like that every year he has improved as he has moved up to tougher competition. He’s on pace to hit 50% more HR than last year.
  21. Personally I like 6 at Fenway….
  22. Not worried either. A little competition never hurts.
