  1. The way I see it, everyone should be rooting, hoping & praying for a standout walk year. I'm still holding out hope he goes off, has a career year, and nets us another pick. I think HK is the one who gets traded this year and that leaves a hole in RF for next year. Even if he accepted, I wouldn't be too upset with a 1-year deal. He likely outperforms all the other potential RF candidates not named Mayo (assuming Mayo gets time this year to take his lumps).
  2. Witt is a fantastic player and you can make an argument that he is better than both Adley and Gunnar. But I don’t think you can make a persuasive argument the O’s should have drafted him and made the team better. Obviously hindsight is 20-20 but that draft was a masterpiece. In addition to Adley and Gunnar we got a piece that netted us Burnes and a potential everyday OFer. I don’t think this team is where it is today w/o Adley.
  3. Grod has 6th inning-itis. He is steadily improving which is all you can ask for. He’s not Ace caliber yet, but I believe he will get there. Going strong in the 6th & 7th is his next test. With that said, he had a fantastic performance yesterday. A lot of positives and things to build on.
  4. Raffy was one of the best pure hitters I ever saw. His swing was a thing of beauty. His ability to hit balls all over the field, for me, separated him from the other “power” guys he competed against. The That and the fact that he walked more than he struck out over his entire career. That’s rare. Count me as someone who couldn’t care less about players who used steroids. It was part of the game at that time and to deny that is foolish. All of those player deserve to be celebrated now as they were at that time. The HOF is a flippin’ museum to preserve the memories of the people who entertained us. No more no less.
  5. For comparison sake: Dylan Beavers through June 9 last year .217 / .308 /.367 / .674 3HR 56K 24BB 13 SB Mac Horvath this year through June 9 .229 / .330 / .398 / .728 5HR 38K 23BB 19 SB Beavers finished the year at .850 w/11HR & 27SB
  6. Good for Etzel. Well deserved.
  7. Big day for the Shorebirds. 8 runs on 11 hits. Arias had a big day with 3 hits (2b & HR). Mordan and Acevedo with 2 hits each.
  8. 2 for 4 today. Won’t be long until his avg is up over .300 and ops up over .900. He’s swing the ball well right now. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=basall000sam&type=bgl&year=2024 Last 19 games before today he’s been on fire.
  9. Followed up last nights big game with a dinger and a couple BBs this afternoon going 2 for 3 with 2R & 2RBI. OPS well north of 1.000 in the last week + and up to .728 on the year after the slow start. Good to see. Also had 3 SB for 19 on the season.
  10. When Helsey was 26 he was on his 3rd year in MLB. Not sure McDermott is gonna pitch to a 183 era+ in MLB anytime soon.
  11. What would we need to give up for Ryan Helsey? Kjerstad alone get it done? Too much?
  12. I think Mullins is going to break out today.
  13. Was simply conversing about his performance. He’s fun to watch.
  14. HR. Bunt single w/2 outs to start a rally. And threw a guy out at 1b for a double play on a a pretty routine fly ball. The kid is a flat out baller.
  15. Cionel Perez’ doppelgänger. Jesus from the Big Lebowski.
  16. 5-0 9h v 1h all the sudden looking like a shelacking
  17. Stowers hurt? Poor Guy can’t buy a break.
  18. Thats fair. I agree about the consistency. Bradish when on (more often than not) really dominates.
  19. Think it’s safe to say he’s a legit Ace. He’s becoming more dominant than Burnes.
