  1. Fair. I agree it happened quick and there might not have been someone close by. It’s hard to tell from that video. A lot of times in that situation people go out of their way to help out because it’s a very dangerous situation. All these guys typically look for each and have the highest respect for their fellow competitors. Also agree that a gate may have prevented that and would be a good idea to have protection across the entire dugout. Field conditions need to be safe for the players. Teams need to protect their assets at all costs.
  2. I’m have a sneaking suspicion that when they do the next major stadium overhaul, the fence might get a little face lift.
  3. I think it looks pretty cool. I dig asymmetry.
  4. We don’t know exactly how to prevent injuries but we do know that pitchers get injured when they are fatigued. Once a pitcher hits 20+ pitches in an inning or 80+ pitches in an outing they are Fatigued and entering the danger zone. Especially in today’s age of max effort pitching. Pulling them in those scenarios aren’t going to avoid all injuries but it will help limit them. That plus the stats on pitchers going through the lineup a 3rd time. Pretty much a no brainer when you see the numbers.
  5. My question is why didn’t someone in the dugout (opposing team) try to help him out? Seems like the right thing to do and have seen other teams help out in that situation in the past.
  6. It seems to me they should probably change their approach or the season will end up a disaster. It’s frankly unexplainable they haven’t demoted/traded/DFA’d the players that aren’t performing. It’s a joke management thinks this group of players has any chance of winning anything. Imagine if they could just walk more..
  7. I hear you. It’s frustrating. But the misses aren’t as egregious.
  8. Do the Os put out the B lineup everytime Burnes pitches knowing that he will likely yield the fewest runs of all the guys on the staff? Or is it just how the rest days happen to fall? Noticing a pattern.

  10. I think he is going to be a guy that gets traded a la DL Hall. The stuff is so enticing someone will pay up for it. He would make me nervous coming in to pitch in a tight game. He could walk the first 3 batters. At the beginning of the season, I was hoping that was a role he could grow into. I'm not so sure that job description fits his ability. I'd love to be wrong about that and have him come up and be a weapon, but the wild inconsistency really makes me nervous. I also don't think they will stunt his growth (and value) as a starter. He's a much more valuable trade chip if he's a starter.
  11. For sure. But with Chayce, my issue is such a huge percentage of his pitches aren't even close. They aren't competitive at all and the batter can just write them off. It puts him in a hole and doesn't help out with sequencing for future pitches. Stuff is always more important than location, but if you are missing by 2' it doesn't matter how good it is. At some point the command needs to become a focus for him to make the next step.
  12. He got 4 fastballs in a row. 95,95,95, 94(boom). Was a little surprised. I guess folks are going to test him until he gets hot again.
  13. Hays looks cooked. I'm holding out for Mullins to turn it around but I'm skeptical. I believe Santander will get it going and get piping relatively soon and put up a typical Santander year. I think it's time to see what Norby can do up here. I think it's time for Urias to go and Norby to take his roster spot. He can get time at 2b & Lf. Westburg can hold down 3B and Gunnar can slide over if absolutely necessary. Kjerstad scares me in the field and is really only playable in RF. Stowers and Norby can platoon in left....can Norby cover LF in OPACY? Cowser is doing a good job in CF. It looks like slowly but surely the youth is pushing the vets out.
  14. The frustrating part about him is he looks fantastic for 2,3 sometimes 4 or 5 batters in a row. He will look overpowering, dot the corners, break off nasty curveballs and the hitters look helpless. Next thing you know he’s missing the zone by 2’.
  15. Almost didn’t make it out of the first tonight. With 36 pitches, bases loaded and 1 out the batter hit a screamer down the line….1b fielded it, stepped on bag, and through home for a tag 3rd out. 3BB 59% strikes. Had no idea where the ball was going but managed 8 Ks. His curveball is really really good. If he can get some control he’s gonna be a force.
  16. Holiday hit a dinger bot 1.
  17. Good read on bat path https://blogs.fangraphs.com/we-know-more-about-the-swing-now-but-what-else-is-missing/?utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=campaign&utm_campaign=052624 STN CMP&_kx=TwQIvtR5rZ3UuYD9qfVxdpSOmotjzODSnoWUmgWlYk8.XHXak9
  18. Can’t tell if this is a joke/nod to the HuskerFan SG battle Royal or not….. he was at 64% yesterday.
  19. Did we pick this guy up from AC Milan?
  20. I watched Cade pitch tonight on the Worcester broadcast. The announcers were gushing over him. He didn’t have his good stuff or command but battled. He gave up 2 HR early and then settled in. He was at 73 pitches in the 5th when Holliday booted a routine ball that cost him about ~10+ pitches or he’d likely have gone 7. It was good to see him battle without his A stuff. He still hasn’t given up more than 3 runs in a game on the season.
  21. 5 teams in all of MiLB have more than 100 steals so far this season. Two of those teams are Aberdeen #1 (125) and Delmarva. Heard that on the Aberdeen broadcast tonight. Aberdeen also has 20 more than the #2 team. I believe they said Delmarva was #3 with 103.
  22. He also beat out a slow roller to SS. He runs well for a C.
  23. While I Mostly agree with you, I think things get messy when you start to police people’s intentions and hypothetical situations. It’s the actions on the field that need to be policed. If he doesn’t make that call because he thinks it’s an easy play, Gunnar misses it or trips going around him, and he calls interference after the play, it gets really ugly. It was just an unfortunate situation and one that the runner likely had no outcome controlling. Perhaps MLB needs to take a look and provide both the umps and teams with some guidance so everyone is on the same page.
  24. Seems exaggerated much more this year. I know it’s a spot for the emotional rollercoaster but good lord.
