  1. That’s fair and I’ll remain patient for a little while. With that said, he did not look good… His final line 4.1 ip 9 R 9 H 1 HR 3 BB 2 K
  2. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=kikucyu01&t=p&year=2024#157-160-sum:pitching_gamelogs Kikuchi since trade = dealing.
  3. Oi. Not going well for Rogers in AAA debut. I tuned in with hopes he’d dominate and give me something to hope on. Through 3ip….so far 5 R 2 BB 2 K 1 WP 5 H (3 doubles). 66 pitches. Will be kinda surprised if he comes out for the 4th.
  4. 4 for 5 today with a double & 2R. EBJ is finishing strong.
  5. Anderson is 2-5 today and is playing LF…did we know he played OF? Didn’t see that mentioned in his draft thread.
  6. Crowley thinking he could still be the hitting coach after overseeing one of the worst periods in team history….
  7. When I saw the play my first thought was “he’d have been out of he didn’t slide.” I’ve always been taught and teach run through the bag unless avoiding a tag/collision. But I do think a perfectly timed slide can gain you 1’. His 3.73 time to first was incredible. I don’t think he gets there that quickly if he doesn’t slide. It was a heck of a play. In the very least, I don’t think he could have continued on his path without altering course/slowing down a hair to avoid Singleton.

  9. Tonight 4.0ip 4H 1 ER 1 BB 2 K era @ 2.61
  10. 3 for 4 tonight with 2 doubles.
  11. His FB was 92-94 tonight. He also throws a curve, change, sinker, & sweeper. 5 of 10 Ks tonight were swinging. 4 on FB and 1 on sinker.
  12. No. He’s .6 HR9 this year. He’s .7 HR9 over his entire career (1524 ip). That includes MLB, MiLB, & foreign. Not sure where we’d be without him this year. Another great performance.

    Alex Pham 2024

    5.1ip 7K 2BB 1H 0R
  14. 4ip 8K 0BB 2H 1R on 46 of 69
  15. Had a few really long at bats and his pitch count got away from him a bit. Finished 61 of 91 with 10K in 4.1ip. 1BB 3H 2R. Heck of a game!
  16. Brandon Young 10K 4.1ip 8/24
  17. 6Ks through 3ip so far tonight. 1R on a solo HR. 0BB.
  18. This is my thought. He doesn’t look quick or explosive in anything he does. It appears he’s laboring out there. He looks like a shell of himself.
  19. My bad. I missed that you were specifically talking about RISP.
  20. I’ll give you the RISP argument. But this whole narrative that they’ve changed their approach and are just “free swingers” is flat out wrong. *through 129 games 2023 637 R 402 BB 1076 K .254 BA .744 OPS 2024 645 R 380 BB 1060 K .253 BA .765 OPS Their walks are down .15 BB per game from last year. .319 OBP compared to .317 (2024).
  21. I posted a comparison of Gunnar and Cowser earlier in this thread. Here we are through 424 PAs of rookie season(s): https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=hendegu01&t=b&year=2023#35-141-sum:batting_gamelogs Gunnar .235 / .320 / .776 19 HR 46BB 114K https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cowseco01.shtml Colton .245 / .323 / .765 18HR 38BB 123K
  22. 1. Burnes 2. Bradish (Injured) 3. GRod (injured) 4. Eflin (injured) 5. Means (Injured) 6. Kremer 7. Suarez 8. Wells (Injured) 9. Irvin 10. Rogers 11. Povich (AAA - rookie Integration) 12. McDermott (AAA rookie integration/injured) 13. Young (AAA) I always thought you needed 8-9 legit SP options to make it through the season. I didn’t think we could count on Bradish nor Means this year. That leaves us with 11 guys of which 3 are Injured. Of the remaining 8 Young, Povich & McDermott are deep depth they’d likely have preferred not to debut. That leaves us with Burnes, Kremer, Suarez, Irvin, & Rogers. The injuries are unreal and it’s been ugly but I think it’s a testament to depth they collected to be the 2nd best team in baseball. 3 of those 13 pitchers were drafted by the orioles and we are 1st in AL East on Aug 21st. They are doing something right, even if it’s painful to watch at times.
