  1. If a lead-off walk scores 51% of the time, imagine a lead-off triple is 75%+.
  2. I’m gonna name my next dog Rowdy.
  3. The Cowser swing at high heat is not.
  4. The Cowser beard is strong.
  5. I forgot about the 4pm start time!!!!! Argh
  6. I think it’s safe to assume that the closer the ball is to the strike zone the higher % of strikes will be called.
  7. I agree. The game would respond. It would have to. But in the interim it would be a very favorable run scoring environment.
  8. This is a fantastic point and one I had not thought of before. Good post.
  9. I think it’s time to cut bait. I was not surprised no one claimed him. He could be a AAA depth piece for a middle-tier team. I don’t see room for him in Norfolk.
  10. So true. With the ability to track all the movement in space that takes place on the field (ball, bat, player) traditional tallying stats just aren’t as accurate in the way of predicting future perforce or describing a players ability. Eventually it starts to paint a picture but it takes a long time and is super noisy with so many independent variable involved in the outcomes.
  11. I think people only use it as gospel when it backs up their argument. When it doesn’t, they poke holes in it.
  12. Is there room for McKenna in Bowie?
  13. After he said “and that’s a home run” it sounded like he had spicy food and his stomach turned and only had 30 seconds to get to the bathroom.
  14. The first game against KC Urias barreled 2 balls to deep right center that would have been a HR in July. If those balls go out, he’s tied for team lead in HR with a gaudy OPS and we aren’t having this conversation.
  15. Interestingly their 21 R 23H record braking night last year was…..against Charlotte. lol But my point is/was - this isn’t anything out of the blue or norm. They’ve raked for years with the talent hoarded in AAA.
  16. By 4/29 last year they had already had (2) 20+ run games and a 17 run game. On 4/29 they broke the then franchise hit record. Folks forget they had Westburg, Ortiz, Cowser, Stowers, Norby & Prieto. They were a juggernaut. The line-up was just as potent.
  17. He made a few nice plays. He also made a couple blunders (missed a throw for a CS & was caught off-guard in wrong position a couple times). He’s going to need to show consistency in the field.
  18. This is nothing new. They did all last year as well.
  19. One down 9th inning and Coby Mayo is the batter and there's a home run.
  20. Sure looked further than 406. That ball was scorched. Announcer was impressed. Mayo makes announcers say funny things when he gets into one.
  21. Good lord. He hammered everything tonight. Average EV is 100+. That's not normal.
  22. OMG the bomb Mayo just hit was insane. 106.6 EV @ 27 degrees. Statcast said 408, but that thing went way further.
  23. Seriously. What’s that? He’s got to know runner is going on contact and with 2 outs is gonna force a play. Hard to see what happened in the corner, but like you said didn’t look like a lot of urgency on his part.
  24. HK has 21 RBI throuh 5 2/3rd games.....He's got to be approaching a record.
  25. Too bad we couldn't get the EV on Mayos foul ball down the line. Holy smokes that ball was smashed.
