LOL 😆 Yes I have waited all my life and attended hundreds of games. (Maybe a thousand by this point?)

Yes I want to attend a World Series game at Camden Yards. I have been at 4 out of the 5 Ravens AFC championship games. Can I get one for the O’s? lol

It is likely never going to be this good again in my lifetime. So no, I am not interested in just having a solid winning team who never crosses the championship threshold. The banners are forever!

When I went to HOU last year and saw all their recent banners in the stadium, I did get a little jealous..lol But I said to myself, that will be us one day. That is my hope as a longtime suffering fan.

My view of it is the playoffs are such a crapshoot, I’d rather have as many good shots at it as possible. Also I really enjoy the summers of elite baseball we’ve seen the last two years. Just keep this going.

We don’t have the luxury of waiting until the offseason. We are in serious World Series this season.

As much as I would hate to surrender one of our top tier prospects, that’s most likely the cost of doing business. But if we have to give up one, I am getting the best starter/pitcher available on the market. If that’s Crochet than so be it.

IMO we just can’t afford to punt on this season if we are serious about winning championships. We don’t have any guarantees about what future seasons will bring. I further injuries and regressions are real possibilities in the future. This year we are amongst the best teams in the sport. An addition of a pitcher like Crochet and a shutdown back end reliever makes us best in sport IMO.

Not that I know anything about you personally, but I always wonder what the Venn diagram would look like with the categories of”Win Now” and “Older Fan.”

I would give up a lot more for Crochet than for Luzardo.  Luzardo is coming back from injury and hasn't been that good this year.  I'm not a fan of Robert with his health history.  I would like an OF with lower upside but better health if the O's are going to trade for an OF.

I think a RH bat is all we need offensively. I’d look at JD Martinez.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Suarez and amazed that the O's somehow converted a NPB pitcher who hadn't pitched in the majors in 7 years into an effective MLB starter.  I'm afraid that he could revert at any time.  Povich seems to have a slim line between being effective and getting hammered.  1 more injury to the starting rotation and we could be looking at someone like Zimmermann every 5th game. 😱  I agree, need to get some kind of middle of rotation starter.  Please no Flaherty types, I'd rather go with what we have.

Counter argument, we’re one Kremer rehab outing from being back at a 6 man rotation.

There is an argument to be made that you bring in 2-3 new relievers and make the offense even better. Solve your weakness and improve upon your strength.  And just go with what you have at starter.

Playoffs are largely about scoring and your bullpen anymore.  You hope for 5, maybe 6 good innings out of your starter.  You need your starters to not lose you the game.

forget the bigger name closer type guys.  Go after the guys like Nardi and Walker.  They won’t cost you any of your top guys.

And make a play for Robert. An injury prone guy but a potential difference making talent when he’s healthy. Plus it gives us another righty and he can play CF at a high level.

Maybe you just do something like that, get Mayo and Holliday up here and try to bludgeon teams.

Agreed on upgrading the bullpen. I think Kimbrel, Cano, and Coulombe are reliable playoff arms. I’d like to be able to add 2 more on their level and above guys like Webb and Perez.

No interest in Robert though. Will cost more than we should pay and too much of an injury risk. White Sox are a team I’d avoid in general.

If SF falls out of contention I bet we could get Robbie Ray pretty cheap. Assuming his rehab continues well. It would make for a pretty funny initial meeting with Hyde. 🤣

It’s all good. There’s a pitch clock now.

Mayo and Basallo could give us 12 total years of above average play for incredibly cheap.  It could range from bad to elite of course.  I’m not sure one season is ever worth losing that.

How is a guy named kidrock the reasonable one here? Mayo and Basallo are much more valuable than whatever quick fix they’ll bring at the deadline. 6-8 weeks ago nobody thought we’d even see Bradish this season. If this is all we get out of him, it’s more than we should’ve expected.

The Twins DFA'd relief pitcher Diego Castillo!  He was a good bullpen guy. Is there any interest.  I think he would be a big asset to us.  What minor league guy would you trade for him?

Is he coming back from injury last year? Hasn’t pitched much since 2022. He might have a low ERA so far but he’s walked 7 and K 3 in 7 IP.

McCann is on pace to play 60ish games…that’s way too many for him.

If it gives us a rested Adley at the end of the season and into the playoffs, it’s worth it. I don’t get the outrage of McCann’s playing time while we have a .667 winning percentage. Let him play 60 games, and let Adley stay fresh.

Maybe I was onto something back then…

You’re gonna keep Irvin out of the rotation in favor of a guy with a 10+ ERA and come back and brag about being on to something because Suarez smoke and mirrored his way around one of the worst offenses in baseball right now?

I love what Suarez has given us, but I don’t think it’s sustainable. Maybe less patting ourselves on the back?

Next Sunday may be Burnes-Wheeler. Are they the two most bankable (healthy) aces in MLB at the moment?

Don't worry, the ESPN Sunday Night crew will be busy with Yankees-Red Sox.

I see people complaining about this but I’d much rather have our guys calling the game than espn

Is that true?  Is he really #1 right now?

I don’t think they’ve released results yet. I just mean he was the best choice for starter without having to put on my orange colored glasses.

No question. He has been hitting into bad luck for a few years. That’s a big reason why I have thought this is his career year. At some point, the luck has to change.

It’s also why I wouldn’t keep him.  Let someone else buy into this being a career renaissance. And who knows, if he got out of OPACY, perhaps an 800+ OpS would become more of the norm for him?

Long term he’s not someone I’d prefer to sign. I’d trade him in the off-season for the right return but won’t complain about having him back next year. Except when he chases sliders.
It’s pretty surprising that he’s the best AL 1B right now. I didn’t even have to stretch to put him on my All Star ballot.

Think it was Holt?   Might have been Sig about not enough players with options in the pen.

One thing we know for sure.  Elias had the final word.

Gotta think Holt’s opinion weighs heavy in any pitcher evaluation.
