  1. I hope Orioles management get DL Hall and Palmer in the same room together as much as possible this month.
  2. Life is like a bullpen of Bradishes. You never know what you're going to get.
  3. I love the sentiment behind this topic, but as a I joked in a recent game thread, I now need to start a "We Should Send Mountcastle to Be Tried and Sentenced at the Hague" thread to balance out OH's cosmic energy.
  4. I wasn't alive for this era—and perhaps this is off base—but it seems reminiscent of how the old school "fireman" was used, at least to a degree. I guess those guys would be brought in in the 6th inning of a close game, but I agree—it's nice to see a lack of rigidity with how an elite closer is utilized.
  5. When it comes to trading Tate, the Yankees ain't lookin' great.
  6. When a pitcher's stuff is that good and then has a start like this, it's really tempting to think something has finally clicked. In terms of (perhaps meaningless) intangibles, early in the game, he got a big strikeout and was, understandably, very hyped up. I loved the energy, and commented as much, but it also struck me as someone who was surprised they were doing as well as they were. After that, though, he turned into a pure ice man. And no melodramatics in the dugout when things got hairy in the 9th. That's all to say, I like his stuff, and I like his composure. Seems like he could be a cult-favorite Bird.
  7. How insanely angry would we all be if a rookie pitcher with a 6.00 ERA threw eight shutout innings against us and we lost? Sometimes it's good to be a damn bird.
  8. Omfg that was disturbingly easy. I am not a mod, but I am imposing a no-Dillion-Tate-slander law for the next 90 minutes.
  9. I hope the Astros won't look great against UC Santa Barbara pitcher Dillon Tate.
  10. You're not wrong, but I'm also the guy that posted that the Orioles damaged Chris Waters' arm by letting him throw a shutout in 2008, so I stick to my awful convictions.
  11. Obviously we're at the point where Hyde should manage to win the game, but I'm glad he's out. I think you want Bradish to experience pure dominance without any personal failure.
  12. I'm not disagreeing with either of you, but sometimes I think we all forget--myself included--how good Tillman's curve was.
