  1. It's Drungo, he is pointing out statistical anomalies, not comparing the two careers and I've always found calling people "sport" is pretty disrespectful. JMO
  2. I am sure atomic will be here any moment recanting his comment and apologizing for the error. I do however agree that (Luck vs Davis) are completely different situations.
  3. Thanks guys. So hoping that he is the beginning of something really good. I would imagine him as a #3 in a strong rotation would be something formidable
  4. I have sympathy for him for the entire situation. I don’t think he can adjust. Having said that I so wish there was an amicable way both parties could resolve this and move on..... Edit: Full disclosure, I am no longer watching the games anymore. Made it longer than last year!
  5. Didn’t see the game. Changeup was on point?
  6. I think you are going to see a bit of a resurgence of Khris Davis, since it has been deemed so by the baseball gods that he has to end the season with a batting average exactly at .247, he should have a bit of an offensive surge coming to finish out the season....but not TOO much of a surge. Yea, that deal is not looking as good now, but we'd all happily exchange the Davis's if we could.

    DL Hall 2019

Reading that seemed to take forever before I got to the line that did NOT say "elbow discomfort" or "forearm strain"....phew.
  8. Jones hasn’t been starting much either. Maybe once in the past 5 games or so. Wonder how they both do for contracts next year.
  9. No one really knows what he believes, but these guys are so driven and singularly focused it would not surprise me to find out he thinks he just one more hot streak from returning to form.
  10. I noted a lot of posters have talked about the money Davis would have to walk away from and that being very unlikely and I agree completely. But, I also would bet that deep down Davis believes he can get back to where he was, that even this length of struggles is not enough to convince him he is truly done. Every bit of contact, every driven ball, even every weak single I bet he is telling himself, that is it, I am close now. I don't see anything changing with this for quite a while yet.
  11. Little Yaz hit his 11th HR last night. Ops at .793 and has been worth 1.1 bWar so far.
  12. I missed that the Cubs released Brach. Went to look at his numbers and whoa! Those are Orioles BP numbers. Thought he started strong with the cubs, he must have fallen completely apart. Hope he does well with the Mets.
  13. Already on the IL. If a break, guessing his season is done. Hoping for sprain or other though. Would love to see Nick keep on rolling.

  15. Could it be possible that Dallas Kuechel could be wishing that he would have had John Means career when it is all done and said? ?
  16. So I went to look at the box score to see who the RF was and its some guy named Feliz? But it brought up another question. Hays only had one at bat before being replaced by Feliz, is he hurt again? https://www.milb.com/gameday/tides-vs-railriders/2019/06/19/575753#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=575753 Edit: Should have just checked the minors thread first, I see he pulled up with a tight hammy.
  17. Don’t make me go all @atomic on you and tell you about my glory days in basketball when I could bump someone 50 yards off the court! Ok, that wasn’t me. But I still get why people and the umps are upset. You give a little....
  18. Yea, I guess. And an incidental bump, who cares. But does an accidental bump become more if allowed? In the major sports, probably not. But I get why some are upset. If.....he truly bumped the ump. I am honestly not even sure about that
  19. It is astonishing isn’t it? But back to Manny. I’ve watched the video, I do think he bumped the ump (with intent I don’t think....), But is that everyone’s general consensus? If so, one game does seem lite.
  20. While Gausman was sucking it up, Markakis broke out of a slump and had 4 hits last night including his 5th HR. Guess he will keep his starting spot for a bit longer....
  21. I still root for former O's, especially the recently jettison one's and some who have been gone a while like Nick. Recently, I have been checking the box scores regularly for Arizona (Jones and Walker), Minnesota (Schoop), SanDiego (Machado) and Atlanta (Nick and Gausman) and Los Angeles (because well Trout, WAR be damned). Checking Atlanta's box score has been very disappointing for quite a while. Hopefully Nick turns it around soon and Gausman finds his typical second half form.
  22. First chance I have had to see him pitch, always just kept missing him and finally saw a few of those invisiball change-ups everyone has been mentioning and they were fun to watch, but sure seemed like he was throwing more fastballs than I expected. I guess you can't let them sit on the change..... Happy we have an arm performing this well, will try to be sure to catch a few more of his starts.
  23. I heard Tony on the Fan this morning and I believe they said he would be on every Thursday with Haynie and Vinnie. Not sure if it will always be the same time, but was around 1130am today I think....
  24. The Toe back with the Rockies...sort of. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/4649/mark-reynolds Rockies signed 1B Mark Reynolds to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Reynolds put up an .839 OPS with 30 home runs and 97 RBI over 148 games with Colorado in 2017 before predictably regressing last year as a part-time player with the Nationals. Free agent acquisition Daniel Murphy appears locked in as the Rockies' new primary first baseman, and Ian Desmond and Ryan McMahon also figure to get reps at the position, so Reynolds probably isn't going to have the opportunity to do nearly as much Coors Field mashing in his return there. The 35-year-old can be ignored in standard fantasy drafts this spring
  25. Corban Joseph had a deal in place with the O’s after being released? I don’t remember reading that. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6211/corban-joseph Athletics signed INF Corban Joseph to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Joseph reportedly re-signed with the Orioles earlier this offseason, but evidently that must have fallen through. The 30-year-old saw spot duty with the O's in 2018 but spent most of the year at Double-A, hitting .312/.381/.497 with 17 homers
