  1. Travis Snider is still around: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/4602/travis-snider Diamondbacks signed OF Travis Snider to a minor league contract. The former top prospect played for the independent Long Island Ducks in 2018, batting .290/.374/.463 with 13 home runs and 71 RBI over 94 games. Snider, 30, has not appeared in a major league game since the 2015 season.
  2. Brandon Snyder is still going, he is a National now, albeit milb contract. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/4163/brandon-snyder Nationals signed INF/OF Brandon Snyder to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Snyder spent the majority of the 2018 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Rays, batting .253/.329/.465 with 18 home runs and 60 RBI in 106 games. The 32-year-old drew just six plate appearances at the major league level last year and zero in 2017. He will be minor league depth for the Nats in 2019.
  3. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6440/aderlin-rodriguez Padres signed INF Aderlin Rodriguez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Rodriguez, 27, batted .286/.335/.478 with 23 home runs at the Double-A level in the Orioles organization last season. He's never played in the majors and looks like a depth signing. Dec 23 - 8:34 AM
  4. That’s what they say. Dodgers at my NL team so kinda hoping they are.
  5. Parker Bridwell is a Yankee now. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/7068/parker-bridwell Yankees claimed RHP Parker Bridwell off waivers from the Angels. Bridwell was designated for assignment by the Angels last week. The 27-year-old missed a bunch of time this past season with an elbow issue, but he enjoyed some success at the major league level in 2017 and will provide the Yankees will some useful depth. 6. Sounds like its related to Ritalin, so yea, that would be it.... http://clinchem.aaccjnls.org/content/56/4/585
  7. Ex-Oriole offspring....Jeff Conine's son suspended. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/10022/griffin-conine Blue Jays prospect outfielder Griffin Conine has been suspended 50 games for violating the minor-league drug prevention and treatment program. He was suspended for using Ritalinic acid, a stimulant. Conine, the son of former major leaguer Jeff Conine, was the second-round pick of the Blue Jays this year. The 21-year-old batted .243/.314/.430 with seven homers in 57 games during his first stint in pro ball in 2018, mostly with Low-A Vancouver. Now he's going to get a late start on his 2019 campaign.
  8. Since it was pretty much set for these two teams to make the postseason, I have been hoping for the A’s versus the Braves for the WS. And I would be pulling for the Braves, mostly because of Markakis.
  9. That bastard won’t quit!
  10. Ah gotchya, I did misunderstand. Yea Machado as a career Oriole would be something. But not something I was ever counting on....unfortunately.
  11. You should see this future HOF/ future Cub 3B/SS everyone has been talking about.
  12. We have a Junior Lake sighting: Mariners signed OF Junior Lake to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. The former Cubs prospect spent the majority of the 2017 season in the Mexican League, slashing .288/.411/.510 in 186 plate appearances with Bravos de Leon. Lake is highly doubtful to make the Mariners' major league roster out of camp. He holds a .235/.278/.376 career batting line at baseball's highest level. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/6873/junior-lake
  13. And if he does make that contract worth its value, he has to be in the HOF conversation, I would think.
  14. 2.3 and 6.0 bWar so far on the current deal too. But no way that one works out in the end, right?
  15. Matt Albers getting two year from the Brewers: Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that free agent reliever Matt Albers has agreed to a two-year deal with the Brewers. Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet says the two-year contract, which is pending a physical, will carry a $5 million guarantee. Albers posted an exceptional 1.62 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 63/17 K/BB ratio in 61 innings last season out of the Nationals' bullpen, bouncing back from a miserable 2016 with the White Sox. The 35-year-old right-hander will operate somewhere between middle relief and setup duty in Milwaukee. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/181/matt-albers
  16. Snyder signed with Tampa: Rays signed INF/OF Brandon Snyder to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Snyder had an .846 OPS with 23 home runs and 77 RBI in 121 games this past season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Nationals. The 31-year-old corner infielder and outfielder could find a semi-regular role in 2018 if the Rays shift into rebuilding mode. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/4163/brandon-snyder
  17. Raffy says he's coming back... http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2747906-rafael-palmeiro-theres-no-doubt-i-can-make-mlb-comeback-at-age-53
  18. McFarland is a free agent: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/7347/tj-mcfarland McFarland is now a free agent. The southpaw struggled with a 5.33 ERA and 29/17 K/BB ratio over 54 innings with the Diamondbacks this past season.
  19. With our disastrous starting pitching this year, that made for a very good, but yet very nauseating read. And hitting 97 now, I knew he had high K rate when we traded him, but didn't remember reading he threw that hard? Wow those pitches against Murphy were nasty.
  20. I had almost forgot about this thread, one of the greats and Enjoy Terror made it into internet lore with this thread. http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/complacent-reynolds Edit: Anyone remember if Reynolds himself knew of this (had too right?) and commented on it?
  21. Fantastic. Really impressive year for Hays. As others have said, I haven't been this excited for a position player since Machado.
  22. Ah sorry, I was curious who the other finalists were (was wondering if a certain Austin Hays would be included) and that came up as the first result from my googling....whoops.
