  1. The only way Holliday stays down long enough to not stay a rookie into 2025 is if he gets injured for most of the year or is catastrophically bad.
  2. …. that’s the worst name I’ve ever heard
  3. Yeah I’m not seeing how this is an incredible deal but I don’t know anything about the 19 year old… looks like talks of them wanting good pitching prospects were legit and we are more position heavy.
  4. It wouldn't surprise me. "at least 1-2 months" is a weird way to word it. And also the fact he's going to see a surgeon seems like a bit of a red flag. IIRC he has already now seen a couple doctors.
  5. Cole will miss at least 1-2 months according to Heyman. He has an apt to fly to LA to see noted surgeon Neal Elattrache.
  6. What a great video. It's so nice to see the Orioles doing things the right way... not just baseball wise, but on the human side of things too. Love it. Thanks for sharing Tony.
  7. I think in our particular case, Cobb agreed to it because of the situation. I imagine Snell and Montgomery would do the same. Doubt they want to come up and be immediately awful after signing a contract. At the least they'd prob do extended spring training.
  8. We signed Alex Cobb on March 20th in 2018. IIRC he started the season staying in Florida and then went to the minors. He went on to make his first start on April 14th. Opening Day was March 29th. So that was a hair over 2 weeks.
  9. Sutcliffe actually was with the Orioles in 92 and 93 and was the one who pitched the opener at Camden Yards.
  10. And so what happens if you send him down for a few weeks and he still wins? Or comes in second like Adley did? You're back to square one.
  11. Sure, but we won't get the draft pick if he stays down for a few weeks and then wins ROTY I don't believe. That's one of the ways that it's supposed to be more enticing to start these guys in the Majors. It makes no sense to send him down for a few weeks to gain the service time... he could gain it back and we actually lose out in the long run.
  12. Right there they did… that was roughly halfway through… but multiple times on the right it showed the possible rotation and indicated they were RH
