  1. Yep, I was at that game. I remember thinking the crowd started to root for Nomo kind of early.
  2. Johnny VanderMeer had a higher WHIP in his back-to-back no hitters, so, yeah, that would probably be a record.

  5. Yeah, HOF'ers only. I did think it was a little strange, though, that at Eddie Murray's statue ceremony, just about every speaker made a point of emphasizing how Eddie was the best firstbaseman in franchise history, while Boog Powell sat 10 feet away. I mean, sure, Eddie was the best, but you know Boog had to be thinking, "wait, my teams won two World Series, I was the league MVP, I was beloved and they ran him out of town, etc."
  6. You'll take my narrative when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.
  7. I was really hoping this would turn out to be Felix Pie. http://deadspin.com/korean-baseball-player-way-too-eager-to-get-to-home-pla-1569317122
  8. Not that it really changes anything you said, but I'm pretty sure the O's made it to the 2nd round in 1997 (the Yanks got bounced in the 1st round that year, though).

  10. I completely agree - if you were putting together a reunion of, say, the 1967 Colts or 1971 Orioles and wanted an emcee type who knew all the old stories, knew what questions to ask each guy etc., then Davis is your man. If you want any kind of informed analysis of anything currently happening on the field, then do not listen to a word he says.
