Having depth is never a bad idea, but I don't subscribe to the idea that Perez is due for a decline. I think you could outsmart yourself and trade someone like Perez when you can sell high and then he turns out to be just as good next year and the guy you replace him with isn't nearly as good.
But what if I could offer you cash considerations?

A stud SP.

I wouldn’t go after him at all. I wanted him last year but things have changed since then.
Gunnar looks like he can be a good SS. Ortiz has Re-established himself. You drafted Holliday because he’s a SS.
Just don’t see the logic behind doing it…not anymore.
This is exactly where I'm at. I just don't see the need after adding Gunnar. Spend the money on pitching instead.

Extend the wall to center getting rid of the corner by the current bullpen. Move the pens up to the third deck and put in a slide that spirals down to the field where RP's will get into the bullpen cart.

Napoleon Dynamite is a very underrated classic . Any movie with a Happy Hands club is OK in my book.

I could have sworn there was a game in which Mateo threw to 1B at almost 96-100mph. I thought I had heard about it because Oneill Cruz had set the season record or something sometime after that. Perhaps my memory is fading as I get older....

It would be hilarious if they won the lottery.
Edit: I'd love to see ME's face the moment he realized they'd won.

Could you imagine if Voth had hit him on the hand instead of the elbow guard and knocked him out for a while? Yankees fans would have gone ballistic.

I was not able to watch the game today. Did listen to radio from about the bottom of 4th on.
They talked on radio about Chirinos. Apparently he would like to play another year but is aware it could be his last year. I wonder if maybe he starts the last game and Adley comes in. I hope Adley plays Wednesday, I’m going to that game.
Do you mean retiring or just last with the Orioles? If he's retiring, I wouldn't be opposed to letting him play that whole game and DH Adley.

Just look at the team before and after Adley came up and it should be clear as day

Sucks we couldn't find a way to get in, but still a fun, surprising season nonetheless. Looking forward to seeing more young guys join the big league squad next year and, hopefully, a playoff berth.

Wow, that was awesome. I'm sitting here in Orlando watching the last two innings and DL Hall ends up getting his first save!
Orlando? Glad you have power/internet right now. I'm over in Titusville and a bunch of my Orlando friends are still dealing with the aftermath of Ian.

Going back to last inning: it actually sounded like Lyles got an ovation from some of the Yankee fans. Did anyone else hear that?
I only heard the boos when Felix got hurt

Should/Will the O’s Exercise the Jordan Lyles Option?

That's the only reason I can think of, too. But I think you gotta move on. He is what he is, and he served his purpose for a team that wasn't supposed to compete. Lyles should not be a starter on a playoff-caliber squad. Let Boston him.
