  1. Yeah Paxton ain’t a top of the rotation starter … try again
  2. I am putting this out there right now - I just have a feeling the Yankees aren’t done adding pitching no source I just have this feeling they may get another starter .
  3. I have a bad feeling that the Yankees are going to end up with Cease . I get the sense the white Sox want some young controllable pitching and they could easily give up Clarke Schmidt along with other prospects maybe not quite as good as the orioles but in the top 100. I sincerely hope I am wrong
  4. Yes they need someone to cover Kyle Gibsons innings. I think John Means should be fine but you have to cover the what ifs. If I was Mike Elias and money was no object I would have signed Jordan Montgomery yesterday . I think he’s exactly what we need on the field and in the clubhouse . We’d keep our prospects for an aggressive July deadline deal.
  5. We could have had sonny gray at 3 years at 75mm but like always we wait for the market to set before striking . Just once I’d like to see us make a bold move early. This year would have been the year . We know what we need . Make the move early . Instead we wait and will probably have to overpay for Michael Lorenzen.
  6. I was not able to listen live - is there anyway to listen to these after they air ?
  7. Good .. better them than us Wacha is a typical pitcher the Os would sign … on the wrong side of30 and cheap.
  8. At the beginning of season it was stated we we were looking for a top of the rotation starter . That means a 2 or 3. Michael Wacha is not that and he’s injury prone
  9. Trade for a top of the rotation starter, trade for a middle of the order bat but do something No excuses this year . Go all in .
  10. Start Lowther at triple A . I want Os management to do this right unlike the Calvary. If he’s dominating there then bring him up but I am not about rushing prospects anymore if we are banking on these guys . Same with Rustchman. I wouldn’t be upset if he DOES NOT make his debut this year .
  11. Still need a pitcher that can eat innings - Matt Harvey sort of risky in that regard .
  12. True but it what happens if Kramer and akin struggle and have to be sent to the bullpen or to Triple A or if they get injured . I want some kind of quality depth to cover for these types of things. Wade Leblanc is a starting pitcher and while he is an option he does not give me confidence as a legit option to take the ball every fifth day , especially coming off an injury. I see him more as a swing man rotation / bullpen guy. We need more than that before the season starts . Otherwise you may have Means and a bunch of guys trying to get their feet wet at the major league level in the toughest division in baseball that may or may not struggle. One or two of these are ok . You can’t have a rotation full of them .As Showalter used to say - you have to address your what ifs and we need to assume those guys aren’t going to come in and be legit right off the bat.
  13. I am ok with this as long as it’s not the only pitcher we sign . We need pitchers that can eat innings . Keep in mind Kramer and Akin have only gotten about 4 starts each and they for are sure going to have their struggles.
  14. This is such an Orioles move - cheap ? - low obp? - lost a step defensively ? only Saving grace is that it’s only a year
  15. Well I would have to figure we’d give up a player at a position that we have some depth in. That would probably be outfield . That may be Santander . Don’t think I would trade him straight up for Cronenworth but maybe a package containing Cronenworth - I am not sure . But this acquisition would be something we sorely need and have needed - A potential middle infielder who could fill time in the infield and the outfield . He finished 2nd in ROY voting and yeah you could point to his sept numbers and say they weren’t very good and that he had one good month . I also looked at his walk verses k rate and it was 8bb/13k . That’s a very good percentage so he 1 ) he has a good idea of the strike zone and 2 ) can still make an impact in the lineup. I’d put him at short and at second in ST and he what he could do. I think he could be an everyday player at a position of need . I just think he needs an opportunity.
