Split Squad Day, Monday, February 26th

Kyle Stowers with the HR to right center, Birds up 2-0. -
Agree or Disagree: We MUST add 1 more starting pitcher....
Orioles West replied to DocJJ's topic in Orioles Talk
I’m never against adding talent. However, I don’t think we must add a starter before Opening Day — but if Elias finds a deal or a steal, I’ll roll with that. For now, I’m looking to see if anyone on the roster steps up this spring. -

Triple by Westburg, top of the 6 — finishes 2-3 with the HR. Nice spring training workout at 3B for him. -

Described by the Braves PBP guy as a line drive homer — nice to ‘see’ from Westburg. -

Yeah - that was a weird late start from that radio feed. -

MLB app looks like only coverage is Braves radio — no audio or TV for Rays v. O’s on the split. -

It was the Pittsburgh feed — and yes, a smoother viewing experience! -

I get MLB TV all season for the O’s living out of market. I had fun today watching the Pirates TV feed on the app with the volume turned down and then listening WBAL radio feed on my phone — although the radio feed was behind the TV feed. Still better to hear the home team announcers. -

Listening to the radio - via MLB app — but I’m out of market, only way I can listen is the app. -

Good to hear Big Ben again and a nice spring training start for Irvin. -
I think this is the best take on the infield position debate thus far. Ultimately, I am glad Henderson, Holliday and Westburg all prefer the coveted SS spot and yet, are talented enough and willing to play other positions to help the team.

It’s weird — I saw the Rockies game, free MLB.TV yesterday and it was clear camera work from start to finish. I really wonder if that centerfield camera is a robo-cam, mounted on the wall getting blown around by that breeze out of centerfield.

Decent Elias conversation - Cakes asking about the Bradish MRI updates. I appreciate the questions, but it’s time to focus on who we got and as he said, to stay as healthy as possible before the team heads north.

Shaky cam complaints I understand. That aside, I am doing a lot of cartwheels — as many as possible for an old dude, it’s just tougher to convey via a message board message. Baseball is back, indeed!

Maybe they make him sleep at the Warehouse and save on Florida hotel costs.

Adley looks ready.

Technology isn’t always our friend — mounted cameras catching the full effects of whatever breeze is happening.

Burnes looks good in the home whites. 13 pitches to get 2 K’s, but sure is a fun way to start spring training.

Been a minute since I jumped in a game thread….well, years now, but it was always a favorite to read. Great to see Cakes in the booth, even if he is stuck in B’more, doing color from afar. Let’ go O’s.

For the Rox here, it was their only shot — Comcast in Denver has been done with RSNs, the Nuggets and Avalanche haven’t been on cable for over 3-years, and those teams actually won titles sans local fans being able to find the games, unless they had DirecTV (although Fubo recently added them this year). As an out of market O’s fanatic, MLB.TV has been well worth it for me since they launched it, getting to see the entire MASN schedule every year. If I understand the current deal correctly, as an MLB.TV subscriber, I need only pay half of the $99.99 that Rockies fans pay for Rockies only. If I was back home in Maryland, I personally would be fine to pay 100 bucks a year to stream O’s games, if MASN has to jump to the streaming model. Although, I wonder if local Baltimore TV would pick up a number of games?

Name one O's player to make the big difference in 2024?
Orioles West replied to oriolediehard's topic in Orioles Talk
I like the wild card pick of Holliday to be the key difference maker, but I think I’ll be pulling for a mostly healthy season/comeback player candidate John Means to help the rotation. -
My wife and I are finally headed back to Sarasota - and as much as I’m there to see the O’s, we really like the area quite a bit. A lot to explore, but I think the OH thread Frobby linked to is a good place to start.

Same. It looks a little weird with the collision of two different looks and decades, but I’ll give it a try.

MASN had no positive value in sales agreement
Orioles West replied to Roll Tide's topic in Orioles Talk
Very interesting stuff. I have to think Rubenstein and crew have done or are doing their due diligence on the best way to move forward (with or without the Nats — or with or without MASN).
