  1. Folks were throwing around numbers like 3.5 to 4 million. Most of us thought the savings from the senior signings were going to go to him. I guess he wants to play pro ball. High ceiling guy with fairly substantial risk.
  2. You overreacting with insufficient data. Wow isn't that unusual.
  3. If they don't sign Hall they lose his slot money, which also means that they lose the ability to go 5% over on his slot money. No idea what it will take to sign Allen but I wouldn't be optimistic if he is a strong commit.
  4. He's a Boras client. Even if it were a simple slot deal I would expect it to take until the last day.
  5. Might have something to do with the 218/288/345 line he put up in Aberdeen as a 21 year old.
  6. I do think he signs unless an issue with the physical comes up. You know one of those, "we still want to sign you but this is going to have an impact on our offer" situations.
  7. C_o_c is pretty much convinced any quality college pitcher with two developed pitches can be fast tracked to a ML bullpen. Of course that doesn't mean they should be.
  8. Gausman was drafted out of HS in 2010 (Dodgers) and was drafted by the O's in 2012. In fact me forgetting he was 21 when drafted is what caused me to bring up the topic in the first place. Hall probably signs, they most all sign these days. But he isn't a lock and that might have been a factor in his being available at #21.
  9. Wouldn't he be a draft eligible sophomore? And he could always go the JC route and reenter next year.
  10. Sure, he is rumored to be a tough sign. Might be the reason he was still on the board.
  11. Saw this article: http://www.talkingchop.com/2017/6/7/15751688/nick-markakis-atlanta-braves-power-surge-hitting Looks like Nick has fallen on hard times.
  12. Just goes to show, once again, that a no hitter on the resume doesn't mean you are a good pitcher.
