Hmmmm Well Pedroia's career high for pitches seen in a season was 3077 set in 2011. He played in 159 games and had 731 PA. Adley last year saw 2908 in 154 games and 687 PA. If Pedrioa could do it all day why didn't he?

I think You are suffering from observational bias. Fouling off pitches has as much to do with the quality of the pitches as it does the hitter. Povich doesn't have swing and miss stuff.
